With the NFL around the corner it is time for my predictions, which is something that I was red hot with last year.

New England will not make the playoffs, star tight end Rob Gronkowski's own words "We are not playing well as a unit", meaning the situation in Boston is dire, not only with the Red Sox but also with the Patriots, also look for the Patriots to sign perennial Prima Donna Terrell Owens(my prediction), the circus is about to arrive in New England, look for Tom Brady to start pointing fingers by week 3 like he always does.

My prediction for the AFC East-

1. NY Jets
2. Buffalo(Wild Card)
3. New England(out of the playoffs)
4. Miami

Biggest surprise - Oakland Raiders.
Biggest disappointment - New England Patriots.

MVP- Micheal Vick.

Philadelphia over New York Jets for the Super Bowl.

I've been a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan for as long as i can remember. Even when the Juice was breaking all the rushing records. Joe Ferguson, Frank Lewis, Joe Cribbs, Jerry Butler, Chuck Knox, etc. And then came the Marv Levy years....Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith, Cornelius Bennett, Shane Conlan, Andre Reed, Thurman Thomas, James Lofton, etc.

They last had their best years when they were led by the surprising (and exciting) Doug Flutie.......man, did he ever get shafted by Wade Phillips when he pulled him in favor of Rob Johnson for their infamous games against the Titans, after Flutie had led them to the playoffs for the most part of the season.

But this season, i have hope that they'll make the playoffs. Why? I believe they'll have a very good defense, close to greatness....the addition of Mario Williams can't hurt. They drafted well & signed some key free agents which will help the defence.

On offense, it'll be similar to last season.....very good at times, so-so at other times. I expect big things from C.J. Spiller, and hopefully more consistency from Ryan Fitzpatrick. I for one don't hate the acquisition of Taverius Jackson. He's used to starting, has been effective in the past, and will fairly reliable if he's ever asked to take over at the QB position should Fitz falter or go down to injury.

I predict a 10-6 record for the Bills.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats win the division, followed by the Bills. The Jets will disappoint many & it'll lead to coach Rex Ryan's firing. As for Miami, they'll stink.

It's time for my legendary weekly NFL picks, I was "RED HOT" last year and I expect to continue my genius predictions this year, good chance to make some serious hobby money folks if you listen to my picks.

Dallas +3.5 over Giants.
Buffalo +3 over Jets.
Cleveland +8.5 over Philadelphia.

And my sure shot guaranteed to make you money pick of the week is my Raiders -1 over San Diego.

Careful with the bets Joe. There are replacement refs out there, making $3,000 per game. That translates to about $48,000 per season. I don't know if they are getting travel expenses.

If those replacement refs call the numerous holds, chop blocks, leg-whips and other illegal maneuvers that the Cowboy O-Line coach trains his players to implement to slow down the Giants pass rush, it will be a long and painful night for Tony Romo.

Big night for BIG D as Americas Team dismantled the defending Suber Bowl champion NYG in New York's own hosue. Tony Romo played great as did Kevin Ogletree, Demarco Murray and Demarcus Ware, as well as WR studs Dez Bryant and Miles Austin. The offseason signing of Brandon Carr and the drafting of Morris Claiborne looks to be huge upgrades on defense and that could help to make Dallas a serious contender this season. Something that was a major weakness last season is now possibly one of their biggest strengths.

Tisk, tisk Doc, you should know by now not to go against my picks, my record last year speaks for itself?, when it comes to sports, iggy owns baseball and you own the NHL , but the NFL is owned by me.

So true Beav, the Cowboys were the beneficiaries of some terrible holding penalties that were not called, especially the first Giants scoring drive at the goal line were there was a blatant hold by the Cowboys player against Victor Cruz that should have resulted in a first and goal and could have changed the outcome of the game.

LOL!

1. New England will make the playoffs, unless Brady gets hurt and misses several games. Even then all analysts believe only Buffalo has a small shot of overtaking them.

2. Michael Vick has been hurt twice in preseason. There's a good chance his style will cause him to miss several games. He will not be MVP!!

3. The Jets will not make the Super Bowl. They have a hard time scoring touchdowns at all and could well finish behind Buffalo.

:D

A little reminder for everyone...there is to be no betting on the board for anything other than bragging rights.

I do hope that this is clear.

Nice way to start the season Mr.T :thumb: All i heard from the announcers last night was what a great job the replacement refs did in the game, even with the "real" refs, calls dont always get made. Anyways, the season could of not started better for the NFL's most popular franchise, up next, Seattle... Big D should be 2-0 to start the season.

Iggy, you think the NFL will shit-can the regular referees in favor of these $3,000/per game replacement lads? I think the regular refs are hoping for some controversial outcomes today. If that does not happen and we see a good replacement referee performance, the NFL is going to dig in, maybe even fire the regular refs. They are paying the replacements almost nothing and saving a lot of money on labor costs.

I predict several atrocious calls by the replacement referees today. Some of them might very well change the final outcome of a couple of games.

2 out of 4 last week, not bad considering it was the first week and I am just warming up.

Picks for week 2-

Buffalo -3 over Kansas City.
Oakland -3 over Miami.
Arizona +14 over New England(this team is horribly overrated).

My sure shot guaranteed to make you money pick of the week is Philadelphia - 0.5 over Baltimore, expect a big game by the best quarterback in the NFL my MVP pick Micheal Vick.

I'll go with the Dolphins & the Pats will cover. I don't know about them being overrated, but Arizona just plain sucks. I'm picking Baltimore to win over Philly, since i believe that Michael Vick is done!

But, but, but Joe, your sure shot guarantee pick of the week got blown out of the water last week! I'm sure that devastated your bankroll ;)
