I saw their show at the Bell Center about 3 years ago. Sammy Hagar & the boys were great! I share the same feelings about this upcoming concert (even if their lead singer is Hagar over Roth) in contrast with The Police. Van Halen kicks ass...The Police tend to put me to sleep.....zzzzzz.

In their day I was a fan of the Police (and of VH), but although I am sure they are all doing it mainly for the $$$, the money grab seems too blatant with the Police since they hate each other's guts. I have no interest in seeing them, and you're right their music does put you to sleep.

Regarding their upcoming tour, here is a quote from the Van Halen website:

"Fans Across The Country Show Their Excitement for First Van Halen/David Lee Roth Tour in More Than 22 Years"

Some scalpers are already mouth watering...

The VH show -- especially with Roth (but even with Hagar) will blow Genesis out of the water. I agree 100%.

I like both bands but the live experience that Van Halen brings to fans is far superior. I hope they bring back the rising, flame throwing mini-stage for Alex's drum kit. Watching him sitting on a cloud of fire, banging the ever loving shit out of his drums, hovering 100 feet above the stage was a past-tour moment that I will not soon forget.

Either way, I hope all these guys strap on their "depends" and drink and extra serving of "ensure" before they hit the stage :)

You mean DLR was serious about joining VH again for the tour? I thought this was a joke! Now, that`s a show i absolutely have to see!

p.s. Will Sammy Hagar also be part of the tour?

I saw them last time they were in town with Jonas as the opening act. Honestly...Jonas was better. Hearing Hagar sing the old Diamond Dave songs just didn't feel right and they seemed to be trying to make up for the lack of quality with sheer volume. It didn't really work. Maybe this time it will be a little better.

The show I'm really looking forward to is Australian Pink Floyd. They may only be a 'cover' or 'tribute' band but damn if they don't sound just like the real thing! Hearing Darkside of the Moon played straight through with no breaks is just amazing. If you have doubts just go to their website and download a couple of their cover tracks...you'll go and buy tickets for the show tomorrow.:p

PS: Doc, Hagar is not on the tour. Thankfully.

It's the original VH lineup with the exception of Wolfgang Van Halen replacing Michael Anthony. A son replacing an original member is also rumored in the upcoming Zep reunion with Jason Bonham expected to replace his deceased father.

I was also at that same concert. This is also the last time i saw my ol' favorite named Aria, whom i had brought to the concert that night. Fond memories indeed! I'm also not a big Sammy Hagar fan. Actually, i stopped listening to Van Halen once David Lee Roth left the band. I just checked Ebay & there are still great tickets to be had at very reasonable prices for the two concerts in Toronto. I'm still debating if i should attend that concert instead of the Mtl concert later in November. For some reason, they play one night in Toronto, then head over to Cleveland, and then return to Toronto for a second concert. The Boss is playing in Toronto 3 nights later....maybe i'll combine both concerts. Pittsburgh & Sydney Crosby are also playing the Leafs that same weekend....could be a great weekend in Toronto!!

The only thing that could make it better is if you could replace the Leafs with any other team! That would make it really great! ;)

You mean, if i could replace the Penguins with the lousy Habs. This way, i'd be certain that the Leafs would win their game & my trip would be a success! :D
