Who will accept American dollars anyway? It's been many years since I can remember a Montreal escort or agency accepting American dollars. This should be an enormous red flag to any reasonably prudent escort. It may be easier to counterfeit American dollars to an untrained eye, although counterfeits are easy to spot by someone trained in the FBI. But if someone can't filter their American dollars through a local money exchange place, than they are or should be too suspicious to see, and the fraud is invited.

I've had a number of American clients pay me in US funds, which suits me just fine. Not once did I consider it suspicious in the least. When I was dancing in Vancouver the Americans always came up with American dollars, I never had a problem...in fact I once got stuck with a couple fake Canadian $20s.

When I come to MTL, Canadian $ seems like Monopoly $ and I seem to spend it that way. I never look at really look at the paper bills that closely mostly because I never hold on to it long enough to look. So for Canadians looking at US $ here's a few quick tips for spotting counterfeit US $.

First of all the feel of the bills. Rub it between your fingers. US $ should NOT feel like paper because it is really cloth and not paper.

For $20 there are to distinguishing marks that can not be duplicated with a simple copy machine. If you hold a $20 up to the light: 1) LEFT side is a ribbon that says "TWENTY" down the ribbon 2) RIGHT side you can see a watermark (faint image) that is the same FACE image of Andrew Jackson that is on the Face of the bill.

For $100. Wait let me grab one from the stack. ha, ha. Holding the bill to the light: 1.) LEFT side is a ribbon (close to the FACE) that says "USA 100" 2) RIGHT side has a watermark that looks like the Ben Franklin on the FACE.

$10 probably are not worth counterfeiting and really don't see that many $50.

Hope this helps a quick reference.

I suspect that these are low quality inkjet printer fake bills, Canadian bills can no longer be counterfeited because of the metallic strip or the plastic bills.

The mentality is that it is comparatively easy to counterfeit US bills, and indy escorts are very easy targets because they are not professional counterfeit detectors and, MORE IMPORTANTLY, will not be going to the cops to explain how it is that they came to accept several hundred dollars in counterfeit bills. Are you guys a bunch of dummies? Why do you see this thread, instead of the OP going to the cops or RCMP? Or whomever has jurisdiction over counterfeiting money in Canada? Because the OP fears this conversation:

MissErotica: Officer, I would like to report a fraud. These 5 US hundred dollar bills are counterfeit.

Officer: What were you selling for US dollars in Quebec, ma'am?

MissErotica: Uh............Uh................Uh.........................I met an American man who sold me some plane tickets to Miami.

Officer: May I see those tickets?

MissErotica: Uh...............uh................gotta go get them.............I will be back! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is why, notwithstanding all of the indy marketing posts in this thread, most of the smart HDH agency operators started refusing American $ many years ago.

No disrespect Beav, but you're way out of line here.

No disrespect, but nobody likes having their intelligence insulted. The poster is here to warn because she CANNOT go to the cops. Her warning amounts to absolutely nothing, because she cannot post a pic, and has not even described the perp in any fashion whatsoever except to say he claimed he was an American, implying that she doubted it. So her warning is a huge ZERO, other than to generally warn that someone is out there trying to pass counterfeit money. And it is not exactly the first time this has happened or been posted about. It is not exactly news that escorts are targeted for those wishing to launder counterfeited monies, or that they are easy targets.

It may be the policy of some indies to accept American $ but whether that is a smart policy is another question. That is open to debate. You can all post that you accept American $ but whether it is a good idea to do so is another matter. If you continue to do so, you are telling me that the warning you are getting from MissErotica has not been heeded. So how can you praise the post and at the same time ignore it?

By the ways, I have been paying for escorts in Montreal since 2002, and was told no to REAL American dollars on several occasions by HDH operators/indies. Lots of money was involved in those deals. I was told Canadian cash, PLEASE. Nobody ever said yes. But I understand and get that these are tougher times now. It was never any big deal to me to pay the minimal transaction fee involved in exchanging money.

Once last week there was a post where I was (surprisingly) agreeing to EB comments and my view of life was shaken but true to form he added a derogatory comment about sp's, so universe balance was restore...

Lily, my so called "derogatory comment" you are apparently referring to was that I did not like tattoos. Please explain how it was derogatory? Only about 50 other people posted to say the same thing. Most of them posting far more explicitly than me. There is nothing at all derogatory about anyone posting their true feelings on any subject. It is not a crime to dislike tattoos.

I would also suggest you stop posting in this manner as it is likely going to make yourself look foolish. I have long had a reputation for being a little too escort friendly in my postings on this board and have been criticized for it. Most senior members know that, and they know me, and they know why that is. These kinds of posts are not very credible by you as you don't know me and have not met me.

My dear EB, the comment I might make about you are about on Merb is your Merb shall I say ...personna? I do hope that the real you you have more subtlety...It was not the tatoos thread but it is irrelevant...

As for making myself look foolish on Merb? Please...some of the topics are so off the wall that even me do not have the imagination to create those...

Merb is a distraction ,not the place to ponder the meaning of life...

What is bugging me and it is not only from you by the , way are generalization...when I read ''all sp have drugs problems"" or my favorite from another strong opiniated hobbyist who said that ''all sp have been sexually abused'',all sp have poor sef-estime''..in a word ? No..we are all differents and can we agre to disagree without been told ''you will look foolish...''only because I do not agree with you...

I have never made any such posts and it is not at all fair to lump me in this category. Like I said, this kind of posting and coming after someone who has been accused many times of his MERB persona being a little too escort friendly with his posts is not something that bolsters credibility.

It is also totally improper posting protocol to cryptically refer to someone having made a "derogatory comment" and then refuse to cite it or quote it or otherwise discuss what they are talking about. It is totally unfair. It also tells me and everyone else there is nothing there. It is called shooting from the hip and firing into the sky. You do not shoot at anything or hit anything.

Really the bottom line on this thread is the poster has not gone to LE for obvious reasons, her post offers no insight into who the perp is, the fact that there are such perps is not news, and accepting large bookings in American dollars is probably a risky practice.

Did it ever occur to you that some of us actually have a brain on our shoulders and can make the distinction between counterfeit and real?

I never said anyone's training was better than mine, which is not as good as someone who has REAL training. But it is not just the issue of recognition. A good counterfeiter will be confident he will not be recognized. It is what HE thinks that counts, not what I think. And he also knows an escort ain't going to LE with those counterfeit bills.

All of this should be very obvious to most of the intelligent readers on this board.

I am not telling anyone what to do, but rather what I have been told by those I have done business with. The best HDH operators are or in the past did not accept American $. I personally have never seen it even advertised that someone accepted American funds. I have also been told the reasoning behind this. I have been told no to American money a bunch of times, but yes to Canadian money I exchanged. This was when the exchange rate was nowhere near par.

Look behind you.
My only issue with American money is that after a few cocktails and being in a dark bar all the bills look the same. I know ( after checking my wallet the next morning ) that I gave 20's or 50's instead of 10's for a drink or 2. Live and learn.

You're forgetting some other important facts. The US currency is the most duplicated because it is the most used. There are far more American dollars out there in the world markets than Canadian dollars. Anyone American who comes across the border with counterfeit money is going to have counterfeit US money, not counterfeit Canadian money. The people in the exchange places who get counterfeit bills will call the cops immediately. Escorts will not.

Read this:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...veryday-office-equipment-Internet-guides.html

The bottom line is that the technology to counterfeit is being used on US dollars because there is more of it out there. And because there is less Canadian money out there the Canadian government can do more to stop counterfeiting as they have with the new bills. Which are light, durable and very user friendly.

Just buy a counterfeit detector pen in bureau en gros or on the internet. You do a line on the bill, if the line is invisible the bill is good. If it turns dark brown it is counterfeit.

Those counterfeit pens are used by most supermarket cashiers in the USA whenever you pass them $100 bills. I always wondered what would happen if my test came back brown. All my $100s come from my bank ATM. Do I get to blame them?
