Michael Skakel murder conviction thrown out: new trial ordered

Shocking news! I've been following this case over the past 20 years and even though i've never been a big fan of the Skakels, i was never sold Michael Skakel's conviction due to very sketchy evidence & unreliable witnesses. For those who want to read up on what occurred, there have been great books written over the years on the murder.

Two that come to mind are books written by the late Dominic Dunne & former cop Mark Fuhrman, who's book "Murder in Greenwich"eventually lead to the re-opening of the case & resulted in Michael Skakel's conviction. A tv movie was also based on the murder case. It was based on Dunne's novel called "A Season in Purgatory". Dunne later dedicated a chapter to the murder case in one of his last books titled "Justice", in which he discusses the many murder cases he'd covered over the years. Another tv movie titled "Murder in Greenwich", based on the Fuhrman book, was shown on tv & starred Christopher Merloni. Other books written on the subject are "Greentown: Murder & Mystery in Greenwich" and "Conviction: Solving the Moxley Murder".

Will the real killer ever be convicted without a benefit of doubt? Personally, i doubt it.

I used to believe that Michael Skakel had murdered her. I also suspected his brother Tommy may have been involved. But after reading Robert Kennedy Jr's book "FRAMED" several months ago i'm now convinced that none of the Skakel boys had anything to do with her murder. Michael Skakel was framed for her murder. There was zero evidence against him to even accuse him of being involved. There was a lot more evidence against other people (including his brother Tommy) than against him. But prosecutors chose to ignore a lot of evidence in order to build a case around him. And what damaged his reputation even more were all the damaging leaks against his character which were made by the prosecution and some of the cops.

Michael Skakel had an air-tight alibi. He wasn't even around the area at the time Martha Moxley was murdered. But when the likes of Dominic Dunne (one of my favorite authors, by the way) and Mark Fuhrman wrote their books about the case and appeared on tv to point the finger at Michael Skakel it literally brainwashed people (including me) into totally believing Michael Skakel had been the culprit. But it was a total sham!!!

Martha Moxley was actually murdered by two young men who weren't from the area. They were acquaintances of Tony Bryant (a cousin of Koby Bryant) who happened to be with them on that particular night and left them just before the murder. They told him beforehand what they'd do and later even confessed to him about the murder. But law enforcement figured they had their guy (Skakel) and didn't want to re-open the case.

Remember the missing club handle? The one which was used to stab her through the neck which the coroner ruled was what ended her life? Remember when they looked and looked for it and never found it? Well several people (cops) who were first at the crime scene testified that they saw that club handle on or next to Martha Moxley's body when they arrived. They remember it either going through her throat or her head. But it magically disappeared!!! There were so many mistakes committed at the crime scene during and after the so-called investigation. So much incompetence!!

If you want to read a great book about the case which will answer all your questions FRAMED is the book to read. I've read 7 other books about the case and none is better than RFK Jr's book "FRAMED". It took me a while to decide to read it since i was convinced Michael Skakel was the culprit. But after finally deciding to read the book i'm 100% certain that the wrong guy was framed for the murder and law enforcement totally ruined the poor guy's life by making a bogus case to implicate him.
