    Merci

    Laila

The danger of giving an interview is that sometimes the reporters wil misinterpret what you say, or purposely distort the interview. I have been at the scene of several news stories and what I read in the newspapers was not a realistic retelling of the story.

    Bonjour Laila,

    ^^This is quite accurate^^

I have been interviewed 4 times in the local media for different subjects (mostly concerning local municipal issues) in the last 10 years, 3 of the interviews were aired. Each time what i said was misinterpreted, they edit things out to make their piece lean in the direction they desire.

If you think doing the interview will help your business, fine. You are taking a risk. You will probably get asked questions you didn't see coming.

I strongly suggest you use fictitious name's. As a matter of fact i suggest you don't do this at all.

What's better? Giving an interview at the risk of being misquoted, or leaving people with different view occupy the air time?
(obviously, the best is to build your own media empire, and then control public opinion, like many have been doing)

I can only speak for my experience, and from my experience one is more than likely to be misquoted or have your words twisted. By agreeing to be interviewed, especially on subjects as divisive as this in the public domain, you won't be doing yourself any favors.

well it would not be for my own agency, ... its mostly to talk about the difference in the prostitution between, pimp and employers, how to make the difference... how to be sure that girls inside this industry are not exploited... and what would be the best procedure to keep it in the good way... of course i wont tell my name.. cause after reflexion i still want to be discrete...but if (by doing this report) it's helping the industry to become legal, and more secure for girls regarding, incalls and the 3rd part, then i would take the risk...even if my words might be twisted...

I agree completely with deboner, again speaking from my experience, I would not trust a reporter because they're priority is their career and not you. They're using you to make their career. I've had 2 instances with reporters, one wrote a newspaper article and the topic was sensitive but I sat down and explained the situation in an email and specifically said I don't want to burn any bridges, these are just the facts and I don't want it to be written in a negative light. She assured me that I would see it before it will be published so I can approve. Obviously that didn't happen and it was written in a very controversial way. The second was with an internet news site and I didn't want to comment so I said some very vague comment and said I don't want to comment on this topic and I have no experience in this situation. Sure enough they took what I said, spun it in a negative light and posted it on their page. The worst is that I had no idea since I said I don't want to comment and it was on a French site so only after many years did I realize it was posted and it's still posted. Immediately it made sense to me why these people were giving me dirty looks all the time...

Anyways, those are just my 2 personal experiences.
