That's a scary lineup, on paper they look pretty dominant so much power in the heart of the order.

KJ,

I very much agree. Btw I see Jose Reyes went down already after one at bat, just like last season if I remember correctly. Any word on him yet? groin? I really would love to see the Jays back to contending again with the Yanks and Rays. I also feel the Orioles have improved themselves over last season as well.

Last year, Reyes missed a few months after tearing some ligaments in his ankle during a slide early into the season. Reyes has always had a history of hamstring problems since he entered MLB. He had a recurrence of those problems two weeks ago during spring training. He came back for the Montreal games. He left today's game after one at-bat after feeling his hamstring tightening up. My guess is that it's day-to-day.

My guess is that the Blue Jays will finish ahead of the Red Sox, that's my guess.

Sharkman my friend,

The LAD are stacked and have an excellent manager in Don Mattingly but hate to see Kershaw go down already. He might be back as early as the 7th of April I heard today. Good luck on the season and I hope you will contribute in the thread throughout the season. :thumb:

He had that problem as a Met

He came back to have that killer year

Then he signed that contract in Miami

It was either sign him, or David Wright long term...

For once, we did something right

After today's blown game, it's gonna be a long season in Metland....

Dodger blue forever!
Although its been a while....since 1988!

Hopefully you get rid of Yasiel Puig soon while he still has value

Good luck this year

Hope my Mets pull one out of their ass and we meet in the playoffs

I doubt it

If last year was the year of the pitcher this year its a already shaping up to be a bad one. Chapman, Darvish, Kershaw and Jansen all down already. Its probably being more careful then anything but you can't feel great when you already have issues game with your aces on game 1.

That aside my Jays have always been in the toughest division but it seems like they are always in the middle or bottom, last year they went for it but the injuries piled up, it really comes down to team chemistry and a great training staff.

That's because they want to be in the toughest division in MLB. A couple of years ago, MLB offered to switch them to the central division. They refused. They preferred to remain in the same division as the Yankees & Red Sox in order to maximize their revenue. They also figured travelling in another time zone more often wouldn't be the preferrable option.....decrease in local tv viewership, etc.

By the way, the Tigers should be in their division.

Hello Kirkjonas,

CHEMISTRY should never be underestimated. In 2012 the Red Sox had maybe their worst manager ever who threw players under the bus like a scythe through wheat. Their were personal divisions between him and the team, between the players, between management, players, and the front office. Injuries took a big toll, but attitudes and the will to perform, partly due the absence of chemistry, helped create a disastrous season...the worse in nearly 50 years.

Then the team was revamped largely through the right role players who would build good chemistry. The result was one of the most miraculous gift of a season turnarounds in MLB history and a World Series Championship. Players bonded quickly, attitudes changed dramatically, there was much better leadership, everyone it seemed put out for the team. There were other key elements too like staying healthy, great comebacks, some players exceeding previous performance levels. But the right chemistry created a team that would always fight for each other and fight to win.

If any one element was more responsible for turning the Red Sox around from division worst in 2012 to 2013 champions...it was chemistry.

What ever happens this year will be appreciated, but still a bit anti-climatic. The Gift of 2013 was so PERFECT!

Good luck,

Merlot
