I say it will be all quiet, because Marois has invited all the separatist to her garden tea party. All five of them will be drinking Twining's British tea, and eating Cannolli from Lorenzo's bakery.

If there won't be a riot, what can I expect when I am in town that day? What kinds of businesses close? Parade? where? when? I ask because I don't really want to stumble into anything. Will most agencies be business as usual? I know nothing of this holiday... clearly! thanks for any guidance.

Mostly business as usual, you won't notice anything other that a bunch of Quebec flags flying around and out up on balconies.

There were days not so long ago where if you worked plumbing or electrical or opened a retail store on June 24, goons will show up to tell you to close the store or leave your work. Over confident Marois called an election and PKP wanted to horn in on her power and spoiled the big putine. During the election campaign, Marios said that her little finger was telling her something. We all told Marois something with out middle finger!

I do not think that this is such a stupid thread. Considering that there were many years where violence has broken out on St. Jean Baptiste day. This first SJB day after the end of the Marois government is a barometer of how interested people are in having an separation from Canada. If there are still groups that are willing to use violence to demonstrate that they still exist, than SJB day will be the time they show themselves.

Marois had a swelled head and thought that she could rally the habitants with the racist Charter of Quebec Values. She misread the public. She was surrounded by sycophants that agreed with everything that she said. Marois thought that she could bring back the days or Rene Levesque. The truth is that even some of her fellow sovereigntist like Lucien Bouchard and Jacques Parizeau were embarrassed by the racist overtones and methods of Marois and he attempted implementation of the Charter of Quebec Values. Maybe they knew that it was not legally constitutional and would hurt the party image.

The Liberals seem to be doing a good job putting the things of the province in order considering the huge financial trouble it is in. I think that all the separatist are waiting for their next messiah to appear and lead them into victory. Being that most separatist are left overs from the 50s and 60s, they will be waiting for a long time and it will be attrition that will dwindle and diminish the cause.

My own personal opinion is that it will be all quiet and we will have a peaceful SJB day.
