Maurice Richard! He was the best at is sport and was an inspiration for French Canadiens to rise up ! The Muhamed Ali québécois ! He came from a poor family working during the day and at night playing hockey . Every time he was called a frog or other derogating word bullied by the upper English class of Montreal he rise up ! Maurice was never afraid to put is nose in the traffic , he rises his knukles every time against reel thugs even pro boxer on skates . Won 8 Stanley cup between 42 and 61. He is Mr Hockey !

Mark Messier when he was with the Rangers was the best captain and leader of any professional sports team ever. He single handedly removed a 54 year Stanley Cup drought and in doing so is responsible for one of the most legendary sports guarantees of all time, discussed in another thread Booker L started.

Mark Messier from the Oiler golden days.
I do not think outside the box, I do not think inside the box, I do not even know where the box is.

    BOYZ!

Jason Varitek of the 2004 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox. You've got to admire a man who stands up for his team and wasn't afraid to stick it to that A-Hole A-Rod, something even the Yankee organization would now commend and is currently trying very hard to do to him also.

All do respect to Paul Stuart and the way they were referring in those days I understand why Izerman would complain .....

Don't forget that Gretzky and Crosby (and to a lesser extent Brett Hull, Mario and Bossy) were/are also considered whiners. It sort of goes with the territory.

In your dreams. No wonder you and your team have been doing so...........

You are joking, right? The title of the tread reads at the end.....'ALL TIME '.

How's Steve Yzerman compared to Dion Phaneuf ? The scent of roses as to road kill.

He will be dishonourably stripped of his captaincy very soon.

Just to name one who I think WILL BE in the same vain as Steve Yzerman is Jonathan Toews.

Both, by the way, have won Stanley Cups.
