    Live and Let Die (song)

from the album Live and Let Die
    Released 1 June 1973 (UK)
    18 June 1973 (US)

    Producer(s) George Martin
Certification RIAA (US) – Gold (31 August 1973)[2]
Paul McCartney and Wings singles chronology
    "My Love"
    (1973) "Live and Let Die"

"Live and Let Die" is the main theme song of the 1973 James Bond film Live and Let Die, written by Paul and Linda McCartney and performed by Paul's band Wings. It was one of their most successful singles, and the most successful Bond theme to that point, charting at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number nine on the UK Singles Chart.[3][4]
Commissioned specifically for the movie and credited to McCartney and his wife Linda, it reunited the former Beatle with the band's producer, George Martin, who both produced the song and arranged the orchestral break. It has been covered by several bands, with Guns N' Roses' version being the most popular. Both McCartney's and Guns N' Roses' versions were nominated for Grammys. In 2012, McCartney was awarded the Million-Air Award from Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), for over 4 million performances of the song in the US.[5],

Lara's theme (Somewhere My Love) from the movie 'Doctor Zhivago'.

Another favorite of mine is the theme from 'The Godfather'.

I am very disappointed that you guys would overlook an Academy Award winning film about prostitution which in my opinion has the two best songs featured in any one film in film history. This would be "Midnight Cowboy" with its theme song and the even more famous Everyone's Talking by Nilsson which was a massive hit:

100% Agree! Actually any Quentin Tarantino Movie Soundtrack!

But for me the all time best theme song, really get my pumped up, is from Hawaii-five-O ! It's not a movie but those drums in the beginning get me all riled up!

Hawaii Five O theme song is the best TV show theme song of all time. A few years ago I heard it performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival by one of the local jazz bands. They did a really good rendition.

It was indeed a memorable theme song. I'd also like to add the entire soundtrack from the movie Saturday Night Fever, which occurred during the pinacle of the disco era. What an album!

Another great theme was from the movie The Magnificient Seven.

    Another great one:

The soundtrack from the movie 'The Graduate', performed by the great duo 'Simon and Garfunkle'. Who doesn't remember 'The Sound of Silence', 'Mrs Robinson' and 'Scarborough Affair'?? What a great soundtrack for an equally great movie!
