Thread: Greg Anthony

    Greg Anthony

Hopefully Charles Barkley, who supposedly once told the cops who stopped him on suspicion of drunk driving that he was on his way to see his favorite call girl because she gave the world's best BJs (he may have been kidding), will give Greg some on-air advice.

Charles might say, Greg, dammit, you always make sure she has at least two reviews on a well-known review site, you make sure she has been advertising for a while, and you become suspicious if she does not screen.

The kind of funny thing is that he was the "good, well-behaved" player on the great UNLV team that had guys who were always on the lam. Those guys are probably getting a kick out of this.

If is of course a shame that this shit happens to anyone. But everyone, including the rich and famous, should know his to get an escort in the U.S. in the safest way possible. If will be interesting to see if it involved Backpage. I guess some famous guys feel that their screening information would not be safe. And I guess it might be hard for Sunshine, the independent escort, to call Greg at CBS to see if he really works there.

Jesus Christ maybe I ought to up my P411 account? This shit scares me. They will ruin this guy over this.

I am really looking forward to analyzing the details. There are still, fortunately, almost no arrests in the U.S. of guys seeing true reviewed escorts who screen. It just amazes me how many guys do not go the route that the cops leave completely alone. And it amazes me how often guys with enormous financial resources do dangerous dumpster diving.

The internet, always such a great source of factual information, is buzzing about an old rumor that he likes transgendered hookers, if so, hopefully that is not the case this time, as that will make it a really hard thing to come back from.

In the ultimate act of shitiness to one of my favorite basketball teams, UNLV, he was replaced in the announcement booth for the game he was supposed to cover by a former Duke basketball star. It is a damn shame that Tarkanian has gotten so old and that his mind has slipped. It would be a classic to see him interviewed chewing that wet towel and asking what the big deal is. He might say if it wasn't for the Vegas hookers, he could never have done so well in recruiting.

Damn, poor guy. No one's life deserves to be torn apart over this...

I'm going to bet that Backpage was involved. I met a prostitution cop in the US and they love to use it for their operations. I'm always surprised when I meet classy and well off clients through Backpage, but it happens.

Are you a UNLV fan, Tiannas, since that is one of your hometowns. A national sports reporter once wrote that Tarkanian noticed that the reporter was always traveling alone when he covered the UNLV games and told him to let Tark know when he was going to be in town, so Tark could get him a great escort if had wanted one. The reporter never knew if he was serious or not.

He was busted in a sting at the Doubletree Guest Suites near the White House. It was an incall operation sting not a SW but Anthony was one of multiple customers who were busted.

TER is reporting a police blurb involving this hotel that suggests that if was a traditional Backpage incall sting.

Generally, these types of arrests do not amount to anything since there is lack of evidence of sex for money. It is done for publicity and the cases are dismissed when a small fine is paid or the accused participates in a diversion program.

And the police rarely use a T-girl as bait in the ad because it generates fewer responses. So hopefully those internet rumors were false, and he can come back and announce again.

It is still bizarre to me that a rich, sophisticated guy would answer a Backpage sting ad. I realize he could nog get outcall to his room with so many colleagues around, but if he could sneak off to incall he could have easily gotten an additional room at a different hotel and gotten a safe, reviewed, screened escort.

Anthony probably didn't have the time to do the research because of all the production meetings etc. He was in DC to broadcast the Maryland game which would involve prep and production meetings. Something caught his eye on BP - it was probably a well executed sting using a real model hired by the police.

Like you said for most guys a small fine and a diversionary program, but for Anthony it looks like a job loss situation.

yes, the deterrent is to ruin someones life rather than to enforce the law. I wonder if he will be on a national sex offender list? Sounds like he is not much of a hobbyist after all. With his resources calling Backpage? they have a saying about girls that get pregnant. The good ones get caught. The experienced ones know their way around the block and can avoid pregnancy. Maybe the same goes for Greg Anthony? He gets nailed because he doesn't know any better. I sapend most of my waking hours thinking about the hobby. LOL!

Fortunately, there are no states where a guilty plea to solicitation or even patronizing a prostitute 18 or over get a person on a sex offender list. And with Martha Coaxley (sp?) having lost yet another election in Massachusetts the danger of that occurring in the near future seems to have passed. I wonder how many guys in that heavily Democratic state have voted against her just because of her man hating tendencies. She is personally responsible for every major Democratic loss in that state. Which is good or bad, depending on your political viewpoint.

No actual conviction will even occur for Greg, as it will be plead down to nothing other than diversion or community service with the charge being dropped once that task is completed. This is the type of police activity that gets bounced by the court if litigated, and the police know that. It is done for publicity, and they sure got themselves some publicity! Given the lack of details, they might be worried about too much publicity. One of these days, the general public might start to get pissed at the police entrapment bullshit of fake Backpage ads.

Fortunately, the really nasty rumors appear to have just been rumors. No chicks with dicks.

    It was Backpage.

The most disturbing thing is that he really said nothing that would constitute solicitation.

Really fucked up situation. If no screening is involved (and there should be screening in the U.S.) the rule of physical contact before talking is important.

Met all the set-up sting criteria. Backpage, very low price, and talking about sex before physical contact.

Guess the police got enough of what they wanted - publicity.

Had just has to do some community service and there will be no charges.

But the damage is done, since he is famous.

Since it was just an entrapment operation, I would have loved it if he fought like the doctor in the New York Backpage sting and sue for damages - but he probably thought it would hurt his comeback. Moral of the story is stay away from Backpage ads in the US featuring a low priced for an unreviewed provider.

Sue for what? Are you serious? This was a plea bargain deal and nothing else. He ended up getting a very generous deal because depending on the case load of the prosecutors, they could have prosecuted for the misdemeanor.
So when will Hillary go to Prison?

Only the Democrats would have a potential CONVICT as their Top Presidential Candidate. Simply Pathetic

One of the guys in the Long Island Backpage sting is suing and I am rooting like hell for him.

The police take out a fake ad, the cop is the one who does all of the talking about sex, and the john is arrested for just responding to an ad. Hell, seeing an escort is perfectly legal. All Greg Anthony did was say yes, he would like her to "dress up" after she offered to do so.

How could you not think what the government does here us wrong? This is not what we pay taxes for. It is complete bullshit. It takes lawsuits to end this stuff. If the government pays damages (or pays settlements to avoid going to trial) for going too far and damaging lives, it will stop. As I said, I am rooting for the doctor in Long Island.

Yep, there are serious crimes with real victims going down in the hood and Police are busy setting up stings which are nothing more than legalized shake downs. Anyone with a real job knows that you would be ruined if your name ever got in the paper associated with one of these entrapment schemes. Raise our taxes another 2% or better yet downsize some waste and eliminate Govt pensions as the corporate world has. But no. Fines are going up exponentially and citizens are used as ATMS by law enforcement. Especially our youth. This is all this is. The best result would be permanent lay offs everyone involved in the sting since they don't have anything better to do.
