Condom Recomendation

I've recently decided that I need to bring my own condoms for my encounters. There is 2 reasons for this: first, the condoms supplied by girls are often tight and uncomfortable. I don't consider myself well-endowed but I am a good size and I've had a few comments on this. The tightness can be uncomfortable and diminish the overall pleasure. The second reason is that I've had condoms break on me a couple of times - this usually leads to some uncomfortable moments for both of us. I been to a couple of pharmacies and they all seem carry a large assortment of Trojans. I tried one type (don't remember the specific name) and wasn't too impressed. There is little reliable info I have found other than the marketing stuff published by the vendors. I imagine that MERB members would be among some of the most well informed people in this area, I'm asking for your recomendations on which brand and model is the ultimate condom: super thin for maximum sensitivity for both partners, super strong for maximum protection, not-too tight size or profile, transparent so it looks natural, made from polyurethane to resist oil based lubricants.

Any additional comments on your experience with condoms is also appreciated.

Research shows...

...the average size penis is 6.3 inches with only slight variations amongst racial/ethnic backgrounds. With that fact in mind it stands to reason that condoms are manufactured to fit that size with the ability to function properly with slight variations either way. What that variation is I'm not certain. I do know that I prefer a magnum condom for the same reasons you listed above, its just a better fit for "larger" men. Ten inches is not a prerequisite to using one. Consider that 8 inches is nearly 22% larger than the "average" size so it makes sense that a "normal" condom would feel tight to someone who is that much above average although they are not "Porn Star" size. Girth also plays a factor so if you have a "fat" one you might be better served to use a magnum as well. Trojan makes them btw.

Good brands to look into:

Crown
Beyond seven
Kimono thin

I'm a big fan of Japanese condoms for both their thinness and strength.

Regarding the condom breaking: it is almost always related to a lack of lubrication, make sure that there is enough during the entire session and use a good lubricant as needed (saliva is not good), I recommend Astroglide or other liquid style lubricants.

Good luck,

I once heard about spray-on condom. I have never tried since I have never seen/found one.
But this could be something interesting to try with your wife/girl-friend :)

From recollection, I remembered the beyond sevens to be slightly larger than average but not by much. What I liked about them was they seemed to stretch to fit better than other brands.

If you are much thicker than the average and tight condoms are cutting in to your fun then you have to seek out the specially made larger ones. Trojans were the worst IMO, magnums were good and seemed well liked by the few users I encountered that requested them.

Thanks for all the good input - I was beginning to wonder if this my problem but obviously others have run into it. I found on the other thread that Durex Avanti were recommended as very sensitive. However one other person said he had problems with Avantis breaking - could be the lubrication problem. Two other options I'm wondering about is first polyurethane-based instead of latex. I think the Avantis are like this. I wonder if SPs prefer poly-based because of allergic reactions to latex. Also, poly-based can handle petroleum-based lubricants which last longer and might help with reduced breakage. The second option I'm wondering about is female condoms. From what I've read, they sound better than male condoms for both males and females. Does anyone have any experience with these? Thanks for the feedback and once I try some out I will post some "condom" reviews.

I tried the polyurethane Avanti brand and was definitely not impressed. Others have reported that they liked them, personally I can't see why. They may be thin but the feel of the material is closer to saran wrap than latex IMO. Needless to say, I found them much more uncomfortable and for the price (about 3$ each) I will definitely not be giving them another try. Side note: I found them to be much roomier than latex condoms, could be worthwhile trying for those with size issues.

Regarding breakage, there are a few reasons that it can happen all of them preventable.
1. Snags or nicks, usually from fingernails
2. Incorrect application, most often not pinching the reservoir tip
3. Lack of proper lubrication. This is the most common culprit. A woman's natural juices are best but often need to be supplemented, especially with certain types of escorting (multiple clients/day type). As with condoms, lube should always be on hand to ensure the safest protection and more pleasurable experiences.

For those with size problems, your best bet is to shop online for specialty condoms. Unfortunately you won't find much quality protection in the drug stores to suit your needs and sex shop prices can be outrageous and their selection limited. I've seen some online retailers offer grab bags of different brands so clients can see which ones they like best without having to buy a box of each.
