When sending food back in a resturant.... Do you ask for another meal?

Look behind you.
I saw Tiannas comment in another thread about possibility of waiter spitting in your food.

I am very patient when it comes to service ( to a limit ) but when food quality is concerned I will send it back. I do not ask for another meal and will have a few drinks while the people I am with eat.
Just another one of my quirks ( food being violated by staff ), I know the probability is very low.

I'm scared of this too. You just never know what people might do. I remember seeing a tv show once where they caught a guy on camera blowing his nose into a sandwich, another urinated into soup...I have no idea if it was real, but it makes you think twice...

I remember one time...i did go to a place, the chicken breast seems fine, but when i did open it,was blood inside,so not cook well AT ALL,so the waitress came back, she did saw it and was shock so she said i will come back with another one, HELL NO...sorry but that is a :nono:...i cancel my order and left...
I am really scared about this ...returning food for ANY REASON.....Like tiannas said i did also soo much see stuff about that !!!
I could tell you a story of someone i know from the past that was working at pizza place, the customer return is order and he did spit in it and also some item did fall on the floor and put it back on!!!...So it is tooo risky even if it have been happen before you have been serve..ishh i dont want to think about it lolll

i work in a restaurant a long long time ago and i saw many times chef or waitor follow 5 second rule wen food drops on floor and even sometimes it was longer then 5 second.

wen i eat out, i never think of my food and never send food back to be recookd.

I have never done it, but then again I have never been in a situation where I found something so disagreeable.

The one I am wondering about is if anyone has rejected a bottle of wine after its been opened and they pour a sample? They go through this ritual but are they really seeking your opinion before pouring the rest of it?

I have been with people that have done this for a good reason.

A waiter once insisted on getting a new bottle because some pieces of cork fell inside it when he was opening it. He told me that restaurants don't mind returning bottles as they get a full refund from the SAQ.

Any reputable kitchen will be concerned with food that is returned for legitamit reasons.

But when the plate goes back out you can be assured that things were done right so the plate does not come back a second time.

If the plate comes back a second time then the client is just asking for it....

Happened to me while with a friend at a local place in our village that the chicken center was not cooked enough in a burger, the boss was there, so he dealt directly with us, apologies, send complementory fries for free and everything was good. But that is a local place, in a village where it want to keep the locals to come back.

In MTL i am not sure what i would had do.... personally i never returned any food, never happened it was badly cooked, and im not one to return something cause i don't like it, cause i take almost zero risk, always goes for a sure value.

As for food failing on ground... bah we never know what they do... some places will serve it, others will not... i try simply to not think about it, if it taste good im all fine...

Alot of things can happen in the kitchen and you will just drive yourself crazy worrying about things.

I really hate seeing open kitchens and the people that work in there and rather they all be all hidden.

I've seen alot in my days, the last I remember was a slab of smoked meat mistakenly being put in the garbage....well guess what happened when they thought no one was looking...

I've worked in a couple of restaurants as a kid as a cook. I never spat i anyone's food and If I would of seen a co-worker do this I would of taken him out back and kicked the dog fuck out of him. If someone doidn't like something we tried to accommodate them. I took pride in my work and I tried to satisfy the customer. Most people seemed reasonable and appreciative of our efforts.
