THIS STUDY is pretty interesting to us hobbyests...We only have access to the abstract, but basically it says that among 388 sex workers the incidence of chlamydia, Trichomonas vaginalis, genital warts, and herpes was 0.61, 0.11, 0.79, and 0.17, respectively, per 100 person months of follow up. This means that, for example, if 100 sex workers were tested after 1 month, only 0.61 of them would have chlamydia; or, more simply, that a sex worker can expect to get chlamydia after approx 13.5 years. Time befor a sex worker can statistacally expect to get one of those 4 infections is 5 years! If I am not mistaken, this study says alot. That means the chance for the average john is MUCH less! Furthermore, I think this study translates well to our society. The conditions of the legal sex workers in Australia I beleive are very similar to escorts here (excluding the street walker, crack whore variety ;) )

The only failsafe way to protect yourself is abstinence!!

I guess thats good news? Still a little like Russian Roulette no matter how safe you try to be.

for herpes it's 0.17 / 100 months. Therefore after 49 years! I beleive for hiv and hep it would be lower yet

Just pray you don't win the "unlucky lottery", but as I have always believed its probably just as dangerous if not more so, having sex with non-sp's since they rarely practice safe sex the way Sp's seem to. From my experience and many of my friends anyway.

It is clear we are still taking risks when engaging in these sexual activities. I am certainly not condoning less safer sex (GFE). However, I am trying to answer why so many sps seem to get away with GFE experiences, let alone the hobbiests. I spoke to a popular sp once who gives very GFE services in incall who gets tested every month and she never got anything (of course she could be lying). There seems to be a gap between what the medical experts are saying and what seems to be reality. Me, personnaly, I think I am through with GFE except kissing.

yeah basically. I beleive the only real risk from kissing is oral herpes, and 50%-80% of us are already inoculated to it (most of us are exposed to it at a young age from kissing extented family members and the like).
