Thread: Saison tranquille dans l'industrie à Mtl? / Quiet season in Mtl industry?

Question Saison tranquille dans l'industrie à Mtl? / Quiet season in Mtl industry?

    ***

I am intrigued by the downturn in the industry these days, other agencies call each other to see if the situation is different with their competitor.
Is there something that's going on these days or this situation is just coincidence ..

The majority of calls (query) negotiates mentioning that even if we refuse to lower prices, they will await the day were we will post down to enjoy it cause we will be desperate.

If that's not it, people ask that all extras are included, independent ladies do you have an increase of calls like that these days?

I think a lot of guys in Montreal are afraid of getting arrested. Send some ladies down to New York! Honestly, I'm sure competition for business is just as fierce down where I am as it is where you are. Mtl Girlfriends opened up in NY last year, but they didn't get past a few months. It's really a completely different business model than it is in Montreal. I must say, though, Montreal ladies are probably the class of the field, and that's not an exaggeration.

I would also like to point out that google translate is imperfect, so I'm only getting about 70% of what you're trying to say in French. It's my own failing -- I studied French in school, but that was a long, long time ago!

I used to fly to Montreal 6 times a year for a long 3 days weekend. Then frankly, I got bored. Of the city, the girls, the agencies, ..., of everything. Now, I fly to Bangkok 2 times a year instead . Moneywise, it is a wash. But pleasure wise, BKK beats YUL hands down.

ps: I $hit you not: The cost of a economy class ticket to BKK (20 hr flight) costs the same price as the ticket to YUL ( 1 hr flight). Add that to the reason why I stopped going to Montreal.

Simple... The economy is down. Majority of peoples discretionary income has decreased... It has been on a steady decline since the 70's. You see it everywhere many retail chains closed down, companies downsizing, I saw many restaurants I saw for years all of a sudden close down. People just do not got as much money to spend as much as they did in the past. Prices of everything is increasing by a lot yet salaries remain the same. Jobs are also disappearing... Jobs are being outsourced to third world countries where they exploit those countries with cheap labor, Harper introduced the Foreign Workers Program where companies bring in temporary foreign workers for cheap slave labor (jobs guaranteed for them but not to Canadians). Dropping oil prices companies using this as an excuse to put more money into their pockets and slash jobs. Alberta is in a downturn now. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
There is no knowledge that is not power.

Mtl Girlfriends went dark for a while and came back as some "new" entity under a new name (French GFE VIP) because they wanted to raise prices. Plus the Canadian side is run my Alexandra and the US touring side is run by Tasha who can at times be very disorganized.

The economy in Montreal is in the toilet.
Everyone is suffering in all industries. Everyone is tight for money.
And yes, businesses are going bankrupt all over town.
It's a simple as that. I hope things will start to pick up soon, but i don't know,I feel it might be just the beginning...

Thanks for the heads-up, Numerati! This is something I'm going to have to look into...

As if anybody is going to listen to me...I'll make a suggestion. I'm sure there are members of the Quebec government who read Merb, so I'm going to throw this out there: you should launch a tourism advertising campaign for your province aimed at the northeast of the US. Americans, wrongly for the most part, have an impression of the French and French Canadians that they are rude and snooty. I've been to France and I have been to Quebec and I have been treated very well by almost everyone. Throw some commercials onto American television and get the tourists up there. The USD is doing so well against the CAD right now that a campaign like this makes sense.

This is an edit: I'll add that everyone thinks people from New York are jerks, too! It isn't true! We're mostly nice. Don't base your opinion of us on that one guy who was an asshole! I guess we're in the same boat...
