How long is a dance?

At strip clubs, most often, it's $10 a dance. But how many minutes does that get you? I'd assume the time varies from place to place, but maybe not. At least I never hear the point being discussed.

For some reason I used to think the average was 6 minutes. Now I'm starting to think it's more like 3. If so, that place Octopussy has to look better. It charges $80 for 20 mins, which is outrageous, but less outrageous if I'm already paying $60 at Cleo's, Caleche, L'Axe, etc. At least the Octopussy girls are all gorgeous.

Depends on the duration of the song, so it could be anywhere between 3 to 5 minutes. Some places like Chez Paree will charge an hourly rate like $100/hr or $8/song. Sometimes you may get a deal, sometimes you will not.

On two occasions at Cleo's I went for 10 songs with a girl, one time I finished an hour later and the other time 45 minutes. I think it really depends on the songs that are played. But then again I could be wrong. ;)

So effectively the standard SC charge of $150/hr is too high if you can get 10 songs for an hour (6 minutes a song, however, seems really long). $100 for 45 minutes translates to $133/hr. Gentlemen's Choice charges $120, which I think is reasonable. I had one girl tell me that when it's really busy she can make $200/hr with tips....believable???

Wanda's charges 100 an hour. Signs are posted in the club with the rates.
If a girl stays with you for longer she will usually give you a deal. Be careful though, if you plan to keep her for an hour, tell her. Many freelance girls (not club regular dancers) will count the songs and leave at 50 minutes and charge you a higher price than if you make it clear you want the hourly rate. This happens a lot with the new girls that work for a night or two during busy periods. The regular girls there are very fair with their rates.

I've already said it before but I can say it over. It depends on the DJ of the place. At Cleos Gerard who works nights Wed to Sun always cuts the songs before 4 minutes. He also doesn't allow girls to dance for songs that are less than 3 minutes 40 seconds.

Most of the other DJs I know don't cut the songs at all or cut them at 5 minutes. So the songs range between 3 and 5 minutes.

I work mostly with Gerard and every time I tried to time the dance I always came up with 15+-1 songs per hour. Since they don't have an hourly rate at Cleos this is what me and most girls charge by default. But of course you can try to make deals with every girl. For example some times I give a deal of 11th song free.

Thanks for explaining about that, Carla.

Anyway, how did I ever get the figure of 6 mins? Wishful thinking is one reason, and also dances tend to be very intense experiences. So much gets packed into the time that the time seems bigger than it is. That's kind of a paradox, of course, since normally things seem longer when they're boring. But I find sex and dances play by different rules than other experiences.

You're probably thinking of extended mixes like someone mentioned at the other board.

Hey, the someone at the other board was me. All this time I've been assuming strip clubs used extended mixes, the way regular dance clubs do. Now I'm facing up to reality.

At Caleche last night I took the giant step of actually using my watch: 4 songs, 15 mins.
