So it begins. Are our chances any better than last year? I don't think so. There hasn't been anyone new and exciting added on. We don't have a Connor Mc David or whatever. I would like to see them at least once get a Sidney Crosby or someone like that .

We have a goalie who is widely considered by many experts(people who are paid for a living to give their opinion on Hockey) to be the absolute best in the world, he was also MVP in the NHL last year, we also have one of the best defenceman and the most exciting player in the NHL(I can't wait for 3 on 3 overtime with PK), I say our chances are pretty good, the best of any other Canadian team, the key will be on how well Alex plays at centre, this will be his break out season and judging how his line is playing(Eller, Alex, Semin) it will be, he will lead the team in scoring(My prediction), I personally will be present at the parade in June on Sainte Catharine.:thumb:

Zack Kassian involved in single traffic accident Sunday at 6am

Montreal Canadiens winger Zack Kassian was involved in a traffic accident early Sunday morning in the Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough of Montreal.

Kassian suffered “minor injuries,” said Canadiens’ VP Communications Donald Beauchamp and is “under the care of the Montreal Canadiens’ doctors.”

A 20-year old woman was driving the truck, which ran into a tree on Clanranald Ave. A 24-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were passengers in the vehicle, said Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture.

Speed did not appear to be a factor in the crash, which took place around 6 a.m., said Couture.

“(Kassian) was all bloodied up and stuff. He was in a daze,” said Steve Petrenko, a resident on the street where the accident took place. He described the man as a big guy, who he thought looked familiar.

“He had a hard time walking, and he almost took a fall,” Petrenko told the Montreal Gazette.

The witness says the man was brought into the lobby of his residential building. He was asked by paramedics if he knew where he was, to which he replied “Quebec,” said Petrenko.

When asked his name, Petrenko said the man responded “Zack Kassian.”

it was not pretty but Price stop the rubber and surprisingly the habs scored three goals :)
Max C Cap scored a magnificent goal on is first game as captain of the greatest hockey team . PK had a bulls eye on is back all night and got hit constantly so he only got three passes .
For the leafs , happy to see a great difference from looser to a team hard to beat . The Badcock effect can be felt this team .
Its not going to be easy for the next few games . Bruins , Sens , Pens and then Ranger at Montreal .
For Pacioretty 2 first goals of maybe another season of 40

Semen spilled all over the ice... guess that's why they hired Condom as a back-up goalie :)

Max in a serious slump and Carey out for a while.

But Wiese has become their best player and Condom has performed extremely well.

Semin now Therrien's favorite whipping boy, which is in no way surprising.

PK having a very ordinary season. Markov back to being the team's best defenceman.

Habs coming back to Earth.

The good news today is that Carey Price had a second opinion on his lower body injury and it confirmed what the habs doctors told him: surgery is likely not required right now.

There's all kind of speculation what the 'lower body' injury is. Most believe it's his knee since he's had a history of knee problems. It could also be a groin or a sports hernia, who knows. Maybe it's his balls. I don't know what habs have to gain by being so secretive and thus allowing everyone to speculate on what's troubling Carey Price.

Loll! Thanks Doc for the update. I Am sure the problem is not his balls, loll. I Had a good laugh when I read that. Good news for sure. It's the only time you can rest Carey, is when he has a minor injury. As for being secretive, it's personal first and secondly you don't want other teams to know.

You never know. I was referring to a medical condition named "testicular torsion". Also known as 'torsion of testes'. It's an emergency condition that occurs when the cords connected to each testicle (men have two of them usually) get twisted together, cutting off circulation. Swelling and tremendous pain ensues. I once saw someone with the condition and one of his testicles seemed to be the size of an apple! Emergency surgery is required or else the testicle will die. It happens more often than people think.

For Angela Price's sake, i hope that Carey's balls are intact...and healthy.

"Take good care of your balls, gentlemen." (and ladies!) ;)

Habs lost again! This time they were embarassed 6-1 by the lowly Colorado Avalanche, led by former habs great Patrick Roy.

The Condon is broken. It's time for team saviour Carey Price to come back and save the Molson bacon. He's back skating, so my guess is that it's only a matter of days before he returns. Dustin Tockarski finished the game last night.

Trade talks are being rumoured. One rumour is Matt Duchesne possibly heading to the habs. But the price will be very high. Patrick Roy seems to also like Russians (just like the habs do), so Alex Galchenyuk would likely be one of the names heading back to Colorado. Colorado also needs a lot of help on defence. Other than Jared Tinordi, who would he be interested in? I'm thinking Alex Emelin, who's been on the trading block for two years now. So could a package of Galchenyuk, Tinordi and Emelin be enough to have the Avs send them Duchesne? I doubt it. I think the habs would have to add Zachary Fucale, their top goaltending prospect.

Will Eric Lindros finally get a fair shot at the Hall of Fame?

by Steve Simmons, The Toronto Sun

This is Eric Lindros’ shot. If he doesn’t make the Hockey Hall of Fame, Class of 2016, when will he?

There are no sure things up for election next summer. There are no Nicklas Lidstroms or Chris Prongers to fill the ballot easily. There is a list of those who have been passed over by the Hall for whatever reason, but no one more prominent or mercurial, no one more loved or loathed than Lindros.

The debate is old and raw and personal and political.

Lindros brought a lot of that on himself, with assists from his family. What matters now is whether he can find the 14 votes necessary to get himself enshrined. The only obstacles in front of him are reputation and opinion.

There’s a chance next year for Jeremy Roenick, for Mark Recchi, for Steve Larmer, maybe for Paul Kariya, and certainly for the already overlooked Russian star, Sergei Makarov. Makarov should have been a slam dunk years ago. Some people believe the same about Lindros. The other candidates, unless you have a personal flag to wave, are marginal. But sometimes, as Phil Housley’s election proved this year, the marginal Hall of Fame candidate can get elected.

There is nothing marginal about Lindros. He was always big, too often bigger than the game.

Whether the Hall is willing to welcome him next year, on a candidacy list without any sure things, is the question.

Eric Lindros to the hall?

Some people just love it when the Habs lose. Well I feel the same way when their team loses. As for the big E , I hope he get in. He was a dominant player for seven or so years. His points per game is very good. He changed hockey, was the ultimate power forward. Liked him as a player and enjoyed watching him play. Hope he get in the Hockey hall of fame.
