    Tebow

Not sure if this really belongs in The Lounge, or Sports Discussion, or the Things That Are Fucked Up thread.

I am not really being critical of his decision to abstain from sex, although it baffles me, but I just do not think it works to attempt that interaction with celebrity girls who just have no commonality of shared interest in this subject.

Why doesn't he find some really gorgeous 18-20 year old southern girl who is deeply religious and is either a virgin, or could realistically claim to be? She would marry him in a second and spend her life gazing adoringly at him while giving him lots of children. A lot of those southern debutantes are very intelligent and socially skilled, so it would work.

The reason I say 18-20 year old is that it is really hard to find an older lady that is still attractive and sane who would not think that abstaining until marriage is just plain bizarre. Although I think the virginity test has now been removed for the British King/Queen, this was a huge issue for Prince Charles. He ended up with the scarf and barf psycho chick (Diana) because he was required to find a virgin and she needed to be old enough to be acceptable to society. Meanwhile his little brother Andrew did not face this limitation and was dating a porn star - I think her name was Koo Stark or something like that. Sure Andrew's eventual bride got fat, but Sarah was at least fun.

So Tebow ought to lock a young cutie in while society would approve and there is still a chance her sex drive will kick in. And he ain't fishing in the right waters at present.

Why is this even a public affair? It's his thing, his life, he can do with it what he wishes. On a side note, if Miss USA (Olivia Culpo) would want to have sex with me, I would say yes. She is hot hot hot.

Safe to say that this guy is a piece of work.

I'm wondering if his lack of success might be the real reason why he can't have sex. I know he's super christian but maybe that he's hiding the real reason why he can't have sex. See, many thought this guy was going to be the next Tom Brady and he was never able to be a QB in the big league, not even a bench warmer. He was hired by ESPN and it went nowhere, he thought about joining the CFL and nothing happened...who knows, maybe having failure after failure after failure is the reason why he can't fuck. Maybe it's a confidance issue. Maybe all that stress doesn't allow him to have an erection.

or maybe I'm thinking too much.

Bastardchief, that goes to my point about him dating a celebrity.

If you dated a former Miss USA, you would have no reasonable expectation of privacy, and neither does Tebow. She has declared herself a public person and will be asked and will answer questions regarding boyfriends and their private lives.

But many 18-20 year old southern debutantes who went to church 98 percent of all Sundays of her life and resisted the high school and college boys to wait for the arrival of Prince Charming is creaming her panties (I presume this is possible even if she still has a hymen - the female posters can elaborate) over this story. He should grab one of them and make her dreams come true.

He couldn't even find employment in the crappy CFL!!!!!

But i'd be willing to bet that one of the main reasons is exactly this: he is indeed quite a piece of work, with all his religious beliefs in such a violent sport, etc.

He should re-orient his career and become a preacher. There's a lot of money to be made in the 'religion' business, especially if you're a tele-evangelical.

LMAO... You think this is the right forum or audience to debate Tebow's abstinence decision??? Pretty biased group...

And to the Quebecer who doesn't know his football very well... Tebow was never going to be the next Tom Brady. Not a single sane football mind would ever say that. When McDaniels picked him in the draft, he was an experiment. Tebow was a fantastic college quarterback at Florida. Anyone who watched him play would attest he was a fearless and fantastic leader of men. He made gutsy, daring plays, and he was tough as nails. He totally deserved his Heisman. His game just doesn't translate to the pro level. QBs in the NFL need to throw, accurately, and can't rely on superior receivers to out-talent their coverage competition. Pure option quarterbacks just don't work in the NFL.

Good for him and his decision. Props for keeping it up. To each their own. Like someone else said, it's his decision. Why is this even a topic? More likely a post in hungry's thread about celebs you'd like to fuck... Ok, enough ridiculous MERB indulgence for this trip...

I simply found it interesting, and it intersects with sex, sports and pop culture, the typical Merb Lounge discussion items. Less about his decision to abstain from sex until marriage but more about his decision to date celebrities who will talk to the media about personal matters. He probably would be a good televangelist and might be angling to someday be the next Billy Graham, so perhaps he is looking for a high profile wife who social media will pay a lot of attention to. The next generation of young religious people are going to want someone who is half celebrity. If the Second Coming happens, young people would immediately ask jesus to establish an official Twitter feed.

Perhaps some of those women he dates are a little bit religious and suspect his religious thing is publicity (I suppose most beauty contestants say they are religious to impress the judges), and are then quite surprised to discover he lives what he "preaches". Life seems to give him quite the script. He had that stretch where he led Denver back game after game during that "miracle" stretch of come from behind victories, but his running game as a quarterback is inconsistent with the pro game.
