Need Advice on Christmas Gift- London Gin

I am involved in a Secret Santa proceeding with some coworkers and colleagues secondary to an upcoming holiday party, and I am told that the person for whom I am Secret Santa has a deep admiration for "London Gin." I did some research and London Gin is apparently any Gin that is very dry. I don't know much about Gin, because my own spirits of choice are Rum and Bourbon.

Can anyone recommend a good London Gin? Are they made with infusions, like the proliferation of Vodkas that are infused with basically everything you can think of except Grandma's armpit sweat?

Is there any new and trendy London Gin?

What differentiates a good London Gin from its peers?

Thanks in advance for any astute insights,

    EB

Like you I am more of a bourbon and rum person but I did try an interesting gin this summer called jinn gin. I don't know if a true aficionado would approve but it was good in my opinion.

My son is quite an amateur of Dry Gin... He bought a bottle of Hendrick's this summer and he liked it. According to my son's taste (taste is personal), Bombay is not first choice. He did like Quebec Dry Gin... Ungava... He asked me for a great Dry Gin for his Christmas gift... Today I was at SAQ in St-Lambert, and I spoke with their Spirit's specialist and I strongly recommand me Jodhpur (from United Kingdom)... I will probably buy it, but I had that Tequila in mind... La Serpiente Emplumada Aneja...

Thanks for all the tips. I went to a very large local Wine & Spirit retailer and their Gin consultant recommended 2 different London Gins. I ended up buying this one which was $23.99 (US$) for the bottle:

Note the bowler hat on the top of the bottle.
