Taking my daughter shopping in Montreal on Wednesday and need advice as where to find an area ( mall ) that has one of a kind type stores. Clothing mostly but something that is not available at every mall.
Thanks

Aren't you a wonderful Father :thumb:

I will let the experts (the ladies) weigh in on your question, however.

Merry Christmas!

Habs Nation!
Agreed! For carrefour laval

Most of the stores there are spread downtown but now they are available in a reasonable distance.

Also what is nice is that most store are more renovated than downtown

Btw I'm a lover of shopping downtown and last week end I had to go to CF to find a store that is only there

And yes it doed rocks!

As one of the ladies here, I would have to agree with my fellow sisters and say Carrefour Laval as well

Sorry folks..My daughter is 23 and I have been shopping with her since she was 15...Shopping with her is one of my greatest joys...
We go to Mile End and Plateau...
This is where you will find one of a kind shops ..boutiques and cool places to stop for lunch or coffee..
Go east on Mt. Royal from St. Laurent to St. Denis. Go south on St. Denis...
Get to St. Laurent and go North back to Mt. Royal..
In Mile End..boutiques and funky used clothes stores on St. Viateur...Fairmount...Park Ave.
Go from Bernard south on St. Laurent to Mt. Royal..
Trust me you will be the cool dad...and far better walking talking and sharing the experience than in a overcrowded mall.

The only problem with Carrefour Laval is that it is mall shopping... nothing unique there. dix/30 in Brossard is way better if you want mall type stuff... at least it has a few funky places tucked in between the chain stores and some decent restaurants.

Otherwise, I agree with Randy. Nothing like my old stomping grounds in Mile End... follow his route and you can't go wrong... some funky restaurants and other places on Roy and Rachel as well. The greatest empanadas in a small columbian place on Rachel between St. Laurent and Ste Dominique... or the roast pork sandwiches at Coco Rico... heaven on earth

Look behind you.
We are at the Carrefour and my daughter is buying with a friend as I sit in the Table 51 lounge, got a few texts already that she likes the mall, the dix/30 was mentioned to me by a SP yesterday but my daughter preferred a mall. The mile end we will try in the spring.
Thanks for the advice.

The mall was packed, read about the braised beef poutine too late ( damn ) mostly clothes shopping for my daughter, favorite store was Aritzia ( loves sweaters and pullovers ). Day ended on a sour note, stopped by Walmart to pick up wrapping paper and came across this strawberry/rhubarb pie ( favorite ), half hour after I ate a piece I was doubled over the great white porcelain bowl for the rest of the evening, I will be visiting Walmart after I return from Montreal, ( took a lot but managed a first incall appointment ).

Dr Smuler prescribes that you twist up a big Xmas fattie

You will feel much better :eyebrows:
