Dear Penthouse, RIP and thanks for the memories

High Society, Hustler, and Penthouse let me know what the inside of the female sex organ looked like when I was about 15, and I thank them for that.

With Playboy, it was just some hair down there.

The only thing that is certain in life is change.

If older EB and older Patron could have visited our younger selves and informed us that Playboy and Penthouse print editions would someday be gone, but we would have a pipeline of almost free hard-core pornography available electronically (including full pornographic movies), we would likely have said "Cool" and requested transport in the time machine used by older EB and Patron to accomplish that visit.

On the other hand, like in the Nevada brothels thread, the quaint ancient memories of yesteryear are not all bad, since that is all we knew at the time. I used to stick the pornos in the giant Life Magazines at the store until the manager would come over and tell me I needed to buy something or leave. And there was one gasoline station with a stash in the outdoor restroom. Every boy in town filled up his car at that gas station.

RIP Penthouse. I learned about the female anatomy through Penthouse; nope -- didn't read the articles.

Who can forget "Penthouse Letters". I used to love reading them. A lot of reviews on this site remind of "Penthouse Letters".

I loved reading the "Penthouse Forum" and looking at the monthly Penthouse Pet's pictures when i was a teenager. I learned various sex positions from pictures i saw in 'The Baloonist'. I never got the blurry photography, but i later read that it was a Bob Guccione thing.

The article says that Penthouse is going digital, but will also be printed for the foreseeable future.

I lost respect for Penthouse when it published pictures that ended the reign of Miss Universe Vanessa Williams after Hef turned down the.opportunity.

I should have kept that issue along with the issue that featured Madonna and her hairy Y. But one of my SO made me throw them away -- she said I should grow up; she was great in bed so I went through with the quid pro quo. I wounder if those two issues will become collectors items.

Was Miss Universe owned by Donald Trump when the exceptionally beautiful Vanessa had her crown stolen.
