    Leafs vs Sens

Seeing as this is such an intense rivalry, how can the Leafs lose the last three games vs the Sens by scores of 8-0, 8-2, and 7-0? If I were a Leafs fan, I'd wear a bag over my head. Talk about embarrassing!

Three total no-shows. Do these guys have any pride whatsoever? Or do they figure they'll save it for their annual take-down of Ottawa in the playoffs?

Still, you'd think they would at least put up some resistance. I know McCabe and Tucker were out last night, but that was still one disgusting performance.

Toronto may not even make the playoffs, and if they do and play Ottawa, I see Sens winning in 4. Ottawa seemes to be a very different and better team (new coach, new goalie, new attitude, emergence of Spezza ... etc ...) than the one that lost to Toronto, Leafs seem to be a worse team than in '03

neither Toronto or Montreal deserves to make the playoffs this year ... and neither will

if a fluke occurs and one of them makes the playoffs, Toronto or Montreal will be out in the first round in 4 straight regardless of who they play

both are terrible hockey teams and a total disgrace to hockey

the leafs should have fired Pat Quinn years ago .... a loser as a player and even worse as their past GM and as their coach now

so many great names were available this year and Toronto and Montreal took none of them ... both John Fergeson Jr and Bob Gainey screwed up bad

these 2 morons laughed at Philidelphia's GM Bobby Clarke for stocking up on talent and there they are at the top of the standings .... Clarke made the correct decisions ..... first he got rid the the deadwood and then loaded up on talent available

The Leafs have serious salary cap issues! If they had room, they definitely would have signed a name player or two.

The problem right now is that they are just a sloppy hockey team. Injuries aside, there is a lack of discipline and a lack of passion right now.

As for the Habs, i'm not entirely surprised at the way they've performed. They started out the season with a bang, but many of these wins were by one goal or in OT.....in other words, luck was on their side. Prior to the season, they released a top-3 defenceman in Brisebois and replaced him with a top 5 defenceman in Dandenault. I'm still not convinced that Markov and Souray are top 3 defencemen. Maybe Markov, but not Souray. I'm even more convinced that Mark Strait shouldn't even be in the NHL. Theodore has been very ordinary, and i'm starting to think that maybe he was over-evaluated and isn't the great goalie which everyone (including myself) first thought he'd become. He had one solid season, the year he won the Vezina. I could name dozens of other goaltenders which had fantastic single seasons and disappeared into oblivion the following seasons.

I'm not as worried for the Leafs making the playoffs as i am for the Habs. I'd like to see both of these original six teams make it, but i doubt it will happen.
Of course THEO is overrated. He performed very well when he had to negotiate a new contract. After he hit the jackpot (4,5$ mil US/yr), he screwed his employer.

Can someone explain why the BELL center is sold out each time the CH plays? With these bunch of losers, the money spent is not worth it.

there is some good news .... thanks to the new CBA ... arbitration nows works both ways ... in the past only the player could take the team to arbitration ... if he felt the team offer was not high enough he could get a higher salary with arbitration

now it works the other way also ... if a player fails to perform (like the bum in net for Montreal and also the bum in net for Chicago) the team can now take the player to arbitration and have his salary reduced to reflect true value ... i can't wait to see this in action

as for Toronto's cap problem .... so what .... Phili had a problem too and solved it ... the solution is to get rid of the deadwood and their high salaries... lots of space after that ... also Toronto never used up the full 39 million .... still has 4 million of space even with the deadwood

Toronto will never be successful until they fire their coach and their GM and replace these two guys with actual winners

The Corel Centre changed to Scotiabank Place because Corel has wanted out of the deal for the last 3yrs. The Senators had to find another co. to take the naming rights. Really though, who gives a fuck when a corporate arena changes it's name to another corporate name? Molson's got out of hockey & Bell was happy to get in. The real piss off is when an established arena name is changed to a corporate name. ie Northlands Coliseum becomes Rexall Place.

    Thanks BDC,

It was called The Palladium when it first opened then quickly changed to Corel Centre during the height of the high tech boom. Corel corp. is a much scaled down version of the co. it was. People here are already calling it The Bank.

I don't know if this means anything but when Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary & Ottawa had bad years, attendence suffered at the gate. When the Leafs & Habs had bad years, people still went....especially in Toronto.

leaf fans still fill up the building even when the team stinks .... what does this mean? .... it means they are morons

if you sell out the building even when the team loses then there is no reason for the guys upstairs to improve the product on the ice .... this was the problem when Harold Ballard was in charge .... once he died the leafs finally spent some money and improved .... but they then screwed up by spending big money on old broken down players with very little left to give

stop buying leaf tickets if the product on the ice stinks

did you see the leafs/raptors top boss on monday on tsn's off the record say that as far as he is concerned the leafs can still win the cup this year ... what bullshit! ... he knows the leafs are finished this year ... any moron knows this ... just bullshit from corporate making sure fans keep filling the seats

one thing that really bugs me about the leafs is that so many seats are sold to companies rather than individuals ... they use them for marketing .... ever watch a leaf home gane .... all those great seats at ice level going up at least a dozen rows from blueline to blueline are ALWAYS empty .... seats sold to companies and noboddy ever shows up ... what a waste! .... the leafs don't care since they have already banked the money since the tickets were sold .... the companies should either use the tickets or at least give them to their employees as gifts
