    Millennial having less sex

    http://www.cnn.com/2016/08/02/health...n-x/index.html

    This is kind of disturbing.

I have never met a man in his 40s - 90s who did not wish he had gotten more sex in his teens, 20s and 30s, either civilian or commercial sex.

The parts work better and you are often closer in age to the most attractive women, making it a more comfortable experience for both.

It is difficult to convey that bit of knowledge to the young. Sometimes it shows up in comedy. I loved the scene in Little Miss Sunshine when the old grandpa is telling the high school grandson, "Fuck a lot of girls in high school, that is when they are good and juicy", while the rest of the family in the car reacted with horror at what grandpa said.

The author of the article is rather bold with her conclusions as to why this is happening, and I disagree with her simplistic but politically correct conclusions. To me, a lot of young women are raised as princesses and have too high of expectations. The younger guys cannot realistically live up to most of those expectations, therefore being unable to get sex from those princess type ladies, and those younger guys often have jobs that pay too little to get a good stream of escorts for sex, given the high prices for quality escorts. Imagine putting that as the reason for the decline in sexual activity and then read the comments section.

This is one of the major reasons why in Japan there is a rising culture, called the "herbivore men", who choose to abstain from sex and are indifferent to relationships.

Oh oh... I hope we are not headed that way too!

    I just read the article.

So, you're personal conclusion about millenial having less sex, is to reject all that have been said in the article, who could be vary valuable indeed,

and plenty put it fully on the shoulders of the young girls only? You are not biased at all, as we can see

Maybe mysogynistic ideas are way more commune in our days, I don't know. I'm sorry if you truly believe the old idea that Eve make us loosing heaven by giving an apple to Adam.

ps: Sorry, I won't ever buy the idea that all the misery on Earth are based only on one gender.

I simply think they already had so much sex in their teens that they've had enough! Been there done that.

One of the paragraphs in the article says there is significantly less high school sex than ever before, too.

I am not sure what the explanation is. I just offered some thoughts, after not quite accepting the author's conclusions that tweeting is so much fun that there is not time of interest in sex for the younger generation.

Those percentages have to be wrong. This just ruined my day. Those numbers have to be wrong.

We have all seen way too many Japanese guys in Thailand for those percentages to be correct. Please tell me it is not that bad in Japan.

Sorry, but it seems the Japanese, both men and women, are interested less and less in "real sex" (too much societal pressure, bad socio-economic conditions, unattainable standards, etc.)
...while at the same time, "virtual sex" is on the rise!

Japan is actually seeing a population implosion trend. That with the fact that their current population already quite old, they are gonna run into some serious problems in the next few decades.

They may be having less sex, but are they having less sex than we did?

According to the article less than the X generation, which I am in. I like the millenials they don't adhere to the "default" of work and society in general. Much more important to them is their social impact, and global "green" effort... and redistribution of equity.

They will probably all realize in 10 years or so that sex is pure fun and will recuperate all this time lost by having sex as often as possible

I think that many yonger guys are gamers and are less focused on picking up girls. I think that the ones having less sex are young guys. The girls are hornier adn actually we have met many millenials who escort hehe

According to the article, the percentage of "young" people reporting sexual activity (not necessarily true virginity, although I read a sturdy showing that virginity amongst males in college is also a higher percentage than in the past) is at a lower percentage in comparison to studies of previous generations when those previous generations were in that age group.

This surprises me. It was my observation that the parents of Generation X and Baby Boomers felt uncomfortable with their children having sex, so it was strategically more difficult for Generation X and Baby Boomers to have sex when they were younger., I was under the impression that Millenials raised in a more permissive sexual environment and their parents were more accepting of sexual activity in their homes. Also, there is less fundamentalist religious instruction given to young people in comparison to previous decades, and a practical impediment decades ago was the anti-sex message from religious groups. So this study surprised me, although one must recognize that there are lies, damned lies, and statistics.

While I try not to be misogynist, I am very skeptical that, if these statistics are true, the lack of sex is a result of 16-35 year old men choosing to abstain, Tim Tebow notwithstanding. I suspect that a lot women in their age group are pursuing other options, and not offering them as much sex. I can come up with a lot of explanations for that. But they all boil down to economics. While I try not to be negative about the fact that many young women have gained economically, I can recognize that many young men have not gained economically at the same pace. And I suspect that there is a high "misery index" amongst some young men as a result of this lack of sex. And I am skeptical that these statistics are entirely good for all young women, although I will refrain from speaking for women, as I am not one. I just think that lack of sex for men, particularly for young men, is not healthy for them.

Do I ever agree with you. Especially "I just think that lack of sex for men, particularly for young men, is not healthy for them." I am a complete believer that sex is absolutely fundamental to having an happy life!

Patron - I haven't read the article yet but if you want to be the big man on campus today you better have a lawyer on retainer.

The principal at the local HS was suspending boys for receiving sexts or explicit texts from girls and had local law enforcement threaten the boys with some sort of sexual assault for receiving the texts.
    It was madness.
