Well ..Oilers just too good..6-2...McDavid and Draisaitl with 3 pts each were on fire. Ce voyage pourrait être très long pour les Habs et être un tournant dans leur saison.....leur défensive est terrible.....vivement le retour de Weber MAIS dans quelle forme sera t-il et pourra t-il vraiment redresser la situation?????
Two players who should be worried about being able to keep their jobs with the habs are Nicholas Deslauriers & Charles Hudon. Deslauriers looks absolutely lost out there & Hudon has shown he's not an NHL player. Terrible defensively & he can't score. Were his name "Smith" instead of "Hudon" he'd already be in Laval. Same thing with Deslauriers.
^^^^^^ Vegas did not struggle because the team was full of " castaways " and they had something to prove.
J’ai regardé ce soir la partie du Rocket de Laval. C est la première game de la ligue americaine que je regarde de ma vie et je dois admettre que c est du très bon hockey. Le seul joueur que je connaissais est le gardien Lindgren. Très belle performance malgré la défaite du Rocket en tirs de barrage. Lindgren a été très fort !
The habs didn't win because of Carey Price but they stole one thanks to Mike Smith's atrocious goaltending. Just stating the facts.
I agree but let's not forget the fact they also had one of the top coaches (in my opinion and that of many) in the league in Gerard Gallant. It's not often that such coaching talent suddenly becomes available at the right time when a team is about to enter its NHL birth.
On another note i'm starting to worry about Todd McLellan's status as an NHL coach if the Oilers don't start winning soon. I've always considered him to be a very good NHL coach. Now i'm not so sure but maybe the GM should be the one taking the blame since he's the one who put this team together.
There's some terrific & very exciting hockey being played in the AHL these days. Many of the players we enjoy watching will one day be playing in the NHL. But many AHL 'stars' are great minor league players but struggle badly once they finally get their chances in the NHL. Take Bruce Boudreau, among others. He was a minor league hockey legend in his playing days. But he could never crack the NHL lineups. For many they can't adjust to the speed. For many others they lose their scoring touch once they reach the NHL. Better goaltending, better defences, etc.
Two years ago one of my contacts was at a Marlies/Bulldogs game and raved about Charles Hudon. "This kid has no business playing in the AHL!!! He should be in the NHL and will be a scoring phenom!!!" I chuckled and reminded him that being a great player in the minors doesn't necessarily mean he'd be able to shine in the NHL. I reminded him of Mike Zigomanis, who was a scoring phenom in the minors but couldn't crack an NHL lineup throughout his career. "But Hudon's got the speed and the skill", my contact told me.
That's why i was surprised that Vegas hadn't drafted Hudon in the expansion draft when they had the chance to pick him up for nothing. But i had never seen Hudon play. George McPhee and his scouting team knew better and passed on him. Hudon ended up making the habs last season but had a poor season. Not surprisingly he made the team again this season but once again has struggled badly and it's my theory that were he not a local product with french surname that he'd likely be spending the rest of the season in the minors, which i must now admit is 'where he really belongs'.
Same thing with Freddie "The Goat" Gauthier of the Leafs. The only reason he's still with the Leafs is because of Matthews & Nylander's absences. Gauthier simply doesn't have the foot speed to play in the NHL. He's a big man with decent hands but lacks the speed and quickness required to play in today's NHL. Had he played in the 1970's he just might have been a Phil Esposito type. But we're in 2018, not 1978.
WOW....4 pts sur 6 dans l'Ouest...un doublé avec la victoire sur les Canucks....another good game to watch, another comeback, another good performance by Drouin--Domi with 9 pts in 9 straight games----une première depuis Markov in 2009---another good game for Price with 35 saves...
Habs on their way for a season 100 pts.....MAIS j'en doute.....encore beaucoup d'interrogations et d'incertitude avec cette équipe......alors enjoy the moment.

Une autre bonne game....dommage qu"ils aient laissé filer une avance de 4-2....ramassent tout de même un point......Domi continue avec un 10ème point en 10 matchs et KK 2 assistances......Price a fait de gros arrêts en 3 ème pour garder les Habs dans le match....bref une bonne soirée.
Ovechkin has 4 goals in his last 2 games vs Montreal, correct? What is the defensive plan on him now?
Ouch...amère défaite..pourtant ils avaient la victoire à portée de main MAIS c'était sans compter sur Skinner avec 2 buts...quelle saison il connaît.....grâce à Niemi ils récoltent au moins 1 point.....mais ce genre de défaite contre une équipe qu'ils doivent vaincre à longue va laisser des traces.....et faire la différence entre to b in the playoffs or not....fin de la séquence de Domi et pas son meilleur match.....
Rendons hommage :yo: aux Sabres ..wow 8 en ligne et parmi les meneurs...quelle surprise....sont défensivement, offensivement et même dans le net plusieurs coches en avance sur les Habs qui y vont d'une 3ème défaite consécutive....les gros oursons demain nous visitent.
