What Gagnon and Marinaro said is also supported by some of the recent cup winners. Teams have won the cup without a all star goaltender, but not without an all star centre.

Hard to argue with you here. He looks old and uninterested. Did you see his post-game comments? Habs fans must be enraged! He's also become a bad seed on this team. And all this is happening even before his 8-year/$10.5 million per year contract is about to kick in. CAREY PRICE EST UNE POMME POURRITE!!!!

If Price is so disinterested in playing for the Habs i'm sure the Habs would be happy to accomodate his trade request if he asks them for a trade. However i'm not sure there's a team out there willing to pay a goaltender that kind of money & term....especially for a goaltender entering his 30's. Especially a goaltender whose skills appear to be eroding...which is quite normal for any athlete entering his 30's, by the way. Your reflexes and skills don't get better as you age....it's the opposite.

3.10 GAA and .901 save % are not acceptable numbers from a top NHL goalie. I would contend that a save % under .900 = you suck moose balls and should not be starting. He may still be woozy from concussion symptoms but if he is lightheaded and can’t focus on the shots on goal then someone else needs to play.

That contract looks bad and will be very hard to move. I would say it could be harder to move than the Ellsbury contract is for the Yankees.

Price's problems are #1 he's aging and #2 between the ears. He had a couple of great seasons a few years ago and i haven't seen the same Carey Price since. He's no Tony Esposito or Bernie Parent, this i can tell you. He isn't a consistent performer and his history of serious injuries is haunting him now.

His defence and the entire team was much better in his better days and i've always said that although he was a top goalie he may not have performed as good as he did had he been playing on half of the other teams in the league. So maybe i was right, i dunno. But if i'm Montreal i'm extremely worried about having to pay Carey Price crazy money until he'll be in his late 30's. For one thing there is not a single goaltender on the planet who deserves to be paid that kind of money and i'd add that there isn't a single goaltender in today's NHL that deserves to be the highest paid player on his team. The difference among top goalies and most of the starting goalies in the league is very narrow today.

But hey Marc Bergevin is supposedly a genius so Geoff Molson didn't object to him granting Carey Price that absolutely obscene contract last July. So now the team is likely to end up paying for it for years to come, which will only keep the team in mediocrity hell. I told you so!

What's worse is that even if there's a management change for the 2019-2020 season (Molson indicated that Bergevin would be here to start the 2018-2019 season), they will be anchored by two huge contracts (Price and Weber) as well as other overpayments like the one recently given to Alzner.
