I provide my real name. I know I am in the minority but i have my own circumstances and tastes. I will provide my merb name or my TER handle if requested.

My handle yes but only to girl who advertize here, or to Indy companion girl. A few girl of Indy companion know my full name and phone number. With Agency I do not share anything.

Cheers,

It may fascinate a few reading this, but i do separate my personal life from Merb. If i happen to contact an agency to see someone, i'll either give them my first name but often i don't even get asked. It has happened that a booker addressed me by my merb handle, but that's because we had first met socially at a party and/or i was asked to confirm my identity via merb.

But most of the time, i keep Merb out of it. I also hate to divulge my merb handle to the girls i see and will often lie about knowing anything about merb or even posting on the board. My good buddy Breadman once commented to me that you don't need merb to see escorts. In other words, people on merb often falsely believe the two go hand-in-hand. Nothing can be further from the truth and the fact i now rarely post in the reviews sections proves this. And my best friend Alex K has never ever been on merb and i don't know of a bigger hobbyist.

I've given my merb-equivalent name in areas outside of Montreal, and my real name in others. I'm trying to decide how I'll handle it when I'm in Montreal.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts/input, super appreciated.

Real name, always.

I own my business, my friends all know about my hobbying (male and female) and I never hobby during a relationship. Serious or even FWB.

What about 'the law' ? - They should fuck off and find real crimes.

The agency i use the most knows my real first name. I introduced myself as such in the parties etc. Also the agencies i use the most also know my handle. I always present myself as my real first name to the girl. I don't care really...

And why should'nt you? You supposedly live in a free country... and... as long as you are both consenting adults you're not hurting nobody.

The reason this hobby is verboten is that it is a bitch to tax.

Well some guys with families and big job could be in deep shit if they knew what they are doing. I don't have this problem. No girlfriend, no wife, no kids, no important job.

i use my my merb handle usually so that i can be trusted
as for my first name, if they need to call me by a name, i give them the generic way of spelling my first name because its spelled very differently spelled originally

i have gotten special treatment on few occasions using my merb handle

You need MERB to see the best escorts.

Wrong. All you have to do his check around with others and also use your instincts when you look at agency/independents websites. There are also other very good websites out there. Merb didn't exist the first few years i started hobbying and those were the years i saw the best girls.

But i'll admit that merb does help. But there are a couple of top agencies or independents that don't advertise on merb and are rarely talked about here.

In other news, King Donald Trump has demanded that SNL be cancelled.

If it's an agency providing your merb handle can help them remember you. It's an Indy it helps show you aren't a time waster. SP tell me over half the calls are time wasters.

Possibly. But it's been my experience that there are quite a few sps who prefer not seeing people who are active on the boards. That's the main reason why i prefer not telling girls or agencies know what my board handle is since i never know how they'll react. Plus the fact that i've always looked at my board handle as a character that i play. Like an actor portraying a role in a tv series or a movie.

Let me explain. Many years ago, i used a duplicate handle on one of the boards. That duplicate handle was quite different than 'Doc Holliday'. His or her political views were different, they cheered for opposing sports teams, they travelled to places the other had never been to previously and they rarely agreed on anything. Myself, i wasn't doing it to mislead people or be an asshole. I simply felt like playing and developing a different character during my spare time and it was actually quite fun. I nearly killed off the Doc Holliday character at one time in order to permanently portray the other one, which had grown to have a board life of its own and had become somewhat popular.

For most merb members like me, just having some activity on merb usually lets ppl know I'm serious and not a time-waster. FWIW, I don't actually mention this once I'm at the meet, just if it's part of the screening process as a first-timer. I do agree the merb membership might be seen as a double-edge sword with some SP's, especially if they've been coerced for extras-for-reviews, which I've heard has happened (it's why if I don't need to be screened, I don't mention this until after my session has ended, to see if the SP would like reviews or not).
