Is it just me or did everybody notice that suddently there are at least 4 new agencies in Montreal, devilish, elegancevip, executive drive and another one that I forgot. I remember now, escortangels.net.

Is there a recession in Montreal that forced these ladies into SPs ?

No there is no recession in Montreal.

Of course an escort review board would be my first choice for current , accurate economic news.;)

Nice come back, Train :p ! I also come here to get schooled in the latest trends in economics theories ;)

Out of curiosity I looked in the Montreal phone book once for escort agencies and found more than I would care to count(seemed like Hundreds of them). Four new agencies hardly constitutes a ripple in a pool of water in this circumstance. Most likely they are some of the same girls available right now working under a different agency name, perhaps yet another case of an agency or two, or three or four, giving themselves MORE aliases in hopes of attracting unsuspecting clients who may have heard bad things about their other identities. Buyer beware and do your research before entering uncharted waters.

Recession in Montreal? All I know is my USD is only fetching 1.15 CAD today. :(

These type of statements have been said before & they'll occur again & again but I've always wondered why all these scenarios or theories keep popping up.

It's some of the same agencies that you've grown to know & love who are just creating additional names/aliases & numbers & has nothing to do with any recession.

It's been done from time & memorial in order to try & corner the market and/or just increase a company's chances of that browsing consumer, why assume that it's anything other than that.

SL is right, there are no less than 4 popular Montreal Escort agencies that are all being run by the same dude, and this is by no means a unique phenomenon. You have the same thing going on in other markets: in London there seems to be one dude operating all the Asian outcall agencies, of which there are 3 or 4, and all are using the same staff. The questions you guys should be asking are as follows:

(1) which girls are interchangeable between the agencies and under what names and are they charging the same or different fees?

(2) If some girls only work for one agency and not the other, why is that the case?

(3) Is the personnel working at one agency working at that agency because the owner wants to test them out for the other agencies, which may have a different price scale?

(4) Is one agency perceived as the agency in which to dump the non-GFE or YMMV girls, and one agency for the girls who are more GFE in service?

(5) Is one agency being marketed towards a more specific market sector (tourists, Anglos, French, etc.)

We recently had an exposed shill review written entirely in French but none of you numbskulls thought to ask the $64,000 question, which is why the fuck would anyone write a shill post in French on an English escort review board (especially when the principal has made other posts in English)? I want all of you to think about the answer to this question.

Would you guys please stop being so goddamned naive with your posts? It's really quite annoying when the same people post the same questions and really just don't get that they are dolts being made to believe what others want them to believe. Smell the fucking coffee, dudes!

femaleluver2,

Have you heard of Future Shop & Best Buy ? Same company !

They're trying to push out the local competition & then after a time (yrs) you'll see that there will no longer be a Future Shop.

In the case of escort agencies, what expenses are we talking about ? A web site design & some miniscule costs of bandwidth ? Who says that they have post the same pics (some fake) of the same girls on all sites & multiple cell numbers.

You Guys and Gals are Doing a Great Job

Fellow merbites,

I don't have the hobbyist experience to share that many of you do.

I'm a marketing guy. This board is so efficient that the 50% of the SP's that are not worth a dime can run but are having a hard time hiding.

Same thing with the agency owners. Playing musical chairs is not going fool you guys.

Walk down the streets of Montreal in July and ask yourself if there is a recession. It's the greatest city in the world in my book, you have some political challenges, who doesn't?

Keep up the great work.

I also have a Marketing background, and in my opinion I think the agencies are missing the boat here. I think it's time some of the agencies begin to cut prices. It's a matter of supply and demand. JDM has survived very well for a long time and charges only $130 for GFE service. I don't use them anymore becuse of an incident, but you could always find a hidden gem with Jacques. Devilish, and Eleganza are both very well reviewed here, and are in the affordable area for most of us. If either one, cut there prices to 140 or 150, don't you think the other would have a hard time surviving? I think it would begin to force the prices lower. I also feel it would increase the business these agencies would have. More agencies mean better chocies, and hopefully better prices for our hobby!!!

When I use agencies, it's incall, but if the price dropped to $140 I would definitely start using outcall agencies because then the price difference for a 1 hour session would be almost non-existant. I'm specuting here, but perhaps with the lower price the agency girls would become bigger clock watchers.

A little over a year ago, I made an appointment with an agency I found on this board. (Haven't seen it mentioned in almost as long) The lady the agency sent confided in me that the same people were operating under six different names. I join those who suspect that the same type of scenario is just continuing...maybe due to slow business people have more time to create new identities.

There is a news story on today's AP wire about a former Florida escort agency owner who is suing the customers for engaging in the illegal acts which ended up costing him his business and being deported. Of interest to this thread is the last line of the article:

"Court records show Florence Dating Service accounted for up to 90 percent of escort service listings in Broward County's 2002 Yellow Pages."

So, yes, it seems that agencies commonly operate under multiple identities. .

Branding 101

This kind of marketing happens all the time, if you look at restaurants, how many of them are owned by the same person or companies? Like Wendy's who owns Tim Horton's. I think they also own KFC, and Taco Bell? This is all about Branding. Sometimes it is a local thing, if you looked at everything you purchase you would notice a great deal of companies own multiple brands. Maybe the easiest to explain is in automobiles. You pick any car maker, and the bigger ones, have multiply brands, not only different models. Honda-Acura, Toyota-Lexus, the US makers are even more famous for this. When you go to a Loblaws, or IGA, you will sometimes see, the name of the company that made the product for another. Look at bread, you can see who made the bread many times. Why do companies do this? It's about expanding their market, and reaching a customer at a different price point, everyone wants to increase their market share.

Future Shop, has commission sales staff, and Best Buy does not, and what I love about these shops is the price guarantee. It's a marketing thing. When a buyer buys a product he asks for exclusive, so he can put it ant any price, nobody will beat it. The retailer company who wants the same product, and also wants exclusive, well the manufacturer will make it, but may have to chance the color, or something small, and then they will have a different product code so you that they are different. It's actually funny to try and compare. By having many brands, this makes it very hard to keep track.

Now in the SP world, I think there is also something about being "new", which may help generate some business, and could it be to loose a bad image? If a visitor to Montreal picks up a phone book, and randomly picks an add, the owner of the SP agency has a better chance of getting that phone call the more numbers/ads he/she has, like playing the lottery.

femaleluver2,

No, there are a couple of agencies that advertise in various mediums, Yellow Pages & The Mirror being just 2 venues, where they are the predominent advertiser.

You may have missed these issues being talked about in previous threads.

Beware that many of the Mirror ads are one of those very agencies & they try to cammoflage themselves by placing little too ads that look like an Indy ad.

Metaphor "recession"

Of course, I know that there is no recession in Montreal.

It is just a metaphor to express the sudden huge influx of SPs.

Where are these SPs from ?

How do you get them ?

Do agency owners drug them and kidnapp them into the profession ?

All of Montreal are into sex-industry business now ? Almost all ?

Are all of Montreal going into the sex-industry trade now ? Almost all of them ?

Sound like a lot of fun.

When are we going to have more discount ?

Why don't we all just set up tents at the park and live like in a commune ?

How about Montreal commune ?
