F1 is back and Michael Schumacher has taken the pole in Bahrain with a blistering 1:31 lap where he fended off new teamate Felipe Massa by only hundredths of a second which left Ferrari 1-2 on the Grid! Jenson Button was less than a half second back in 3rd and last years champ Fernando Alonso will start 4th.
For those of you fans who didn't catch qualifying the new format was quite interesting and much more exciting than last year (IMO anyway). The engine changes accompanied by the reintroduction of tire changes during the race should make this an extremely competitive season with a return to more aggressive driving.
7 time world champ Schumacher, like him or not, further cemented himself as one of the all time great drivers of the sport by tying the late Ayrton Senna for all time pole positions with 65 total poles. Amazing! The race will air on Speed Channel tomorrow, check your local listings for the tape delay time. Only 3 months and 14 days til race day in Montreal! Get ready!
