Yeah all those things are true except he testified under oath. And if it's not classified, it's not exactly much of a leak. Plus don't think Comey would have admitted it if he was trying to hide something. Not only is he a savvy former Deputy Attorney General, he also knows press & govt need each other even if they don't like each other. Most of the leaks have been coming from White House in some macabre attempt to get Trump's attention.

In any event, we'll see what happens. Obstruction of justice was what led Nixon to resign, the same Nixon that first planted the idea in Trump's head that he'd be a good politician. Nixon: the herpes of US Presidents.

No, the legal experts are weighing in here. Comey's memo was considered government property. Leaking that to the press is a violation of federal statutes, which is why Trump promptly filed a complaint with Justice. Comey could be in trouble here. It's pretty clear this was not Comey's only leak. I believe Trump had a one-on-one session with Comey to determine for sure if he was leaking, and Comey fell into the trap. This is very hard to prove, but not when Comey testifies publicly he was leaking -- now Trump is holding all the cards. He has a legitimate reason to fire Comey that had nothing to do with Russia. There is no case here, and the investigation is starting to dig up Obama admin obstruction, such as Comey's comments about Loretta Lynch, and tapes of Lynch speaking with Bill Clinton on the airport tarmac have all been suddenly classified by the NSA. The minute this investigation starts to make Obama look bad, you will see it die a very quick death.

You are talking total nonsense here, Obama doing something wrong, unheard of, the media will not stand for such a statement "Delete ". Obama spending: http://dailysignal.com/2009/03/24/bush-deficit-vs-obama-deficit-in-pictures/ . https://www.thebalance.com/national-debt-under-obama-3306293. Obama sucked big time.

The only way Trump gets impeached is if he winds up winning the 2020 elections and the Dems own the House. The current GOP congress don't have the gonads to impeach their Supreme Leader. They're terrified of him.

Well Doc is certainly right about the GOP not disposing Trump under any circumstances except for one: if Trump threatens Republicans' re-election chances. But Democrats would probably need the House and Senate to see impeachment through. It will be interesting to see what the new obstruction of justice investigation and its outcome will do to the GOP's next move.

Would anyone wager if impeachment will start by July 1, 2018.

I can't see impeachment proceedings starting before the November 2018 midterm elections.

Unless Trump fucks Hillary Clinton right on the front lawn of the WH. Maybe that would get the GOP to budge. Nothing else will.

impeachment takes about 4 years.

I believe the whole process takes about 3 years in total, starting with the start of the investigation until the official impeachment.

But as long as the Republicans are in charge of the House, there's no way in hell that they'll impeach Donald Trump. This is not the same Republican party as the one during the Nixon years. And Reagan years. And Bush 41 and Bush 43 years. The Republicans we have today have no spine and will chose party over country. They are literally UN-AMERICAN.

Not only that, but impeachment didn't make the opposition party very popular on previous occasions. If Dems take control of Congress in 2018, they would be better off focusing on the 2020 general instead of pissing off swing voters by wasting their electoral campaign on impeachment... Unless it's a Nixon situation where the Senate is sure to convict the president, in which case this is your scenario, and the GOP is better positioned to win which Pence as candidate.
Right I totally agree

Pulling out from the climate deal isn't reneging on their demands even though essentially everything else has and is screwing them over, including how global warming affects everyone regardless of political affiliation. I only wish his dad pulled out.

That last sentence had me literally on the floor ... :pound:

I usually don’t get involved in politics. I like to live a stress free life and it’s hard to avoid stress or anxiety when dealing with politics. Furthermore, I have friends who share various political views, some are left of center, right of center, federalist and sovereignist. As a result, my political views don’t interfere with my private life, which is the way it should be. However, that last sentence from the post above gave me such a good laugh, that I couldn’t help but comment on it.
