Look behind you.
I would not call a 10% increase a SPIKE.

Makes sense to increase the rates. Lots of girls were going the indy way. This way they get a little bit more without the hassle of setting it up themselves. It had been a while since rates went up. If i remember correctly goodgirls was at 200$ in 2015. So it's only 5% per year. You have the choice. Pay for company or play with yourself for free

Yeah I mean look at Sascha of Euphoria. With an agency she was what? $200 for incall and $220 outcall. Then she went indy as Bianca Lawson. Poof! She went from $700 for two hours and now $950 for two hours.

I vividely remember that agencys in 2001 to 2005 were charging 160$ an hour and gfe wasn't a term that was used, but the service was gfe. Todays average is between 200 and 240. Such a small increase in 16 years is minute and really under the rest of the worlds standard.
Keep in mind that in many canadian citys average rates are 250$ to 350$ and many citys have little to none gfe options.. we got it good, even too good if you compare price/service/hotness..?

I remember those days as well and I agree with your post.

It's all supply and demand and market forces determining the rates. If a lady wants to work less at a higher rate, she has the right to choose to do so.

If you complain about rates, cut the demand, you're part of the "problem".If it ever becomes too expensive for me I'll just stop.

If you're talking about very, very recently, it was the F1 race. So yeah, they spiked their rates. They do every year.
If you're talking more generally, I didn't really notice, to be honest. It's possible.

One thing I did notice though, like 15 minutes ago, is that MAE88, whose track record is passable at best, has a new girl (post-Grand Prix) at $280 / hour. They were at $240 six months ago. These guys were charging $180 or $200 not two years ago. They increased dramatically their rates in the past year. Not to pile on on an agency I already criticized in the past, but their offer is subpar, and now they're getting at $300 / hour soon!? What the hell?
How can they pull that off? They have so much clients that they can ask crazy rates now?

Don't get me wrong: they absolutely have the right to do that. Hell, they should, it might work! But Guys... we need to stop encouraging places like that and encouraging this behavior.

It's not complicated really, there is no scarcity in Montreal, there is no reason to support agencies that overcharge for subpar service. Making it more expensive doesn't make it more classy nor better. If I sell you a turd $1,000 dollars, it doesn't taste better than a free one.

Meanwhile, you have Unicorn Healers - i didn't try them but read plenty of good - who might charge more, but seems to offer a great service and propose something no other agency is offering at the moment. These are entrepreneurs I am tempted to support, even if it's costing me more.

I'm all for sex workers asking what they're worth and making good money, but there is no fundamental difference between this industry and other industries: we need to encourage businesses and workers who offers quality. Otherwise, if crap is for sale at crazy prices, we'll have nobody else but us to blame. Collectively, we have the power to make sure that it's fair for everyone, and it starts with you and you alone: when rates are high and quality low, don't buy, don't call, don't text, don't book. Support quality and honesty.

Its not 10%. From what I have seen based on looking at the ads here it's 20%.
So I'm all for the 20% going to the girls...but do you really thing it does? Take a look at a popular agency..12 girls all fully booked for their whole shift. They are listed as being available for 8 hours. So instead, they work 6. So if the pimp, and let's not bullshit here, they are pimps, get $50 per girl do the math. The are making $3000 a night. An additional $20 assuming they split it, it's an additional 800+ per pimp per night.
I hope it's going to the girls but I doubt it. The greedy pimps are the ones driving them away.. For good reason.
I'd rather pay an independent girl the $40.

Not sure what ads you are looking at but I have only seen a 10% increase. This is not a yearly increase and probably the first one I have noticed in 4 years ( old and may have forgotten ). There are still great agencies at $200, stick with them if it is what you are looking for. As for them making lots of money, good for them, they have a product people want, charge what you can get.
The new fad fidget spinners are $10 for a $1 item and they are selling like crazy ( people are amused easily I guess ), to me that is overcharging, asking $220 here for a product that sells for $350 elsewhere is not overcharging.

Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay. As long as they are able to sustain a steady number of clients at this price I see no reason why they shouldn't. As previously stated, it takes more efforts than before to manage the bookings. Increase in fake bookings, infinite time wasting back and forth text messaging with lurkers, cancellations and no shows... this has become quite a burden which creates revenue loss. This sucks for the good clients, as we're basically paying the bill for the assholes fucking it up for us, seems pretty Canadian to me lol

As being someone with complicated scheduling availabilities for my playtime and can rarely pre-books days in advance, I kinda like the possibility that the higher quality girls might be more available to accommodate my last-minute schedule. Perhaps the higher rates will also help attract more girls too (as long as the girls are also getting an increase in their fees). As long as the session quality doesn't decrease... perhaps this will even help lower the number of creepers fucking it up for the rest of us too... I don't know. But should the quality decrease, that's where I think the unity of the boards will need to have an impact.

I also think its unfair to compare with other cities, especially places where the cost of life is much higher than Montreal. So I can understand how this can affect the local clients whom might feel the burn more than the tourists. But considering that the local girls might be capable to sustain themselves without as many local clients isn't bad business practice...

Nonetheless, we should see the effects on these increases down the road, especially during the off season. If prices drop, or promos/discounts increase in frequency, we can then assume how the Montreal market can't sustain it. Then, perhaps we can establish if this is warranted or just greed.

Only time will tell

Didn't we have this exact discussion in the euphoria thread? How is this still a thing? Here is what I wrote in that thread:

When I first started coming to montreal in 2005 asservissante charged 160. Anyone who thinks montreal prices are skyrocketing clearly does not hobby in other north American cities.

If we take 2005 as a starting point, the recent price increase to 220 is a 37.5% increase over 12 years which is about 3.1% per year. If you look at the annual consumer price index during that same time period, the increase is a little bit higher, but the difference is nominal. Gas costs more, milk costs more, cars cost more, rent costs more.

Escort prices in Boston on sites like Eros have likewise increased from US 250 to USE 350 over the same time. The girls aren't as hot and the service isn't anywhere near as good. Montreal was a bargain for me in 2005 and remains a bargain now.

I really don't understand what all the agitation is about. Is there any product or service in your life that is the exact same price it was 12 years ago? Some increases come every single year, other increases come every few years. Even if montreal prices weren't a bargain - even if they were the most expensive prices in all of North America - why would you be shocked and offended when they increase every few years at a rate roughly commensurate with overall consumer prices? Why should escorts and agencies be the only business that is expected to be magically insulated from changes in the cost of living?

So you think that James isn't paying more in gas than he did 4 years ago? Do you think Sam's cell phone bill hasn't gone up in 5 years? Do you think anastasia's rent hasn't increased in the last few years? Do you think tuition hasn't increased for any of the multitude of girls who are in college? If the price is too high for you then don't pay it. If demand goes down by a large amount then maybe prices will go down, but much more likely the demand will stay plenty strong enough because the market will bear it. Regardless, no one is gouging anyone. These agencies are businesses - they do not to turn a profit and they would like to maintain their profit margin. Big deal.

I doubt girls see 6 clients in an 8 hr shift and few of them work 8 hr shifts, but even if I agree with the underlying math it doesn't make a difference to me as customer. The agency/provider relationship is the exact same regardless of whether or not prices have increased recently or not. As far as I am concerned, it is a business choice that girls make. There are logical reasons why a girl would want to be an indy or part of the indy collective just as there are logical reasons why a girl would prefer to work through any agency. As long as no one is being hurt or forced (which does not happen in these montreal agencies but does happen in the USA) then why should I care? Each girl is working through a channel that meets their needs. We see girls flip from one agency to another and from agency to indy all the time so clearly labor has the ability to move in this particular marketplace. I am happy to pay the market rate (which is still a bargain even when you add in my hotel and transport cost from the USA) to any of the lovely young ladies in this great city who provide top notch service. And when my hour is done, I am filled with gratitude and empty of fluids.

We are still cheap comparing to other cities around us. Each girl knows what they are worth and if they feel they could bump their price up its usually to have a nice flow of great AAA clients and less hassles. So they can filter out the idiots that don't respect these girls. Remember guys they take a beating mentally and physically and there is no price tag for that.
Cheers

Just noticed XO is now at least 220-hour.....un peu prévisible avec l'arrivée de nouvelles sp qui travaillaient déjà à ce tarif......et par équité pour celles qui étaient déjà dans la boîte.....la tendance va sûrement se propager ailleurs.....MAIS en dépit de cette augmentation le prix demeure très compétitif en regard de celui demandé maintenant par beaucoup d'indépendantes.....et la majorité des filles en agence réputée le mérite bien.....à nous d'ajuster nos budgets.
