As cow is sacred in Hindu religion, recently lot of people got killed in India on suspicion of eating the cow meat and some states banned slaughtering the cows.

This has nothing to do with political correctness., government control etc... I believe this is proof of the worsening of political polarization of our societies, Loss of the centrist point of view. Better put, loss of political correctness.
