There is definitely a cyclical nature to most teams' performance in the NHL, but some teams seems to endure shorter periods of poor performance while others repeatedly under perform. Both the Habs and the Oilers seem to be among the latter group of teams. In both cases, the cause seems to be asset mismanagement over multiple administrations.

The fact is....THE HABS ARE AN AWFUL TEAM. But one thing habs fans do not realize is that they've been as AWFUL for the past few years but that fact was hidden due to the fact Carey Price singlehandedly won game after game for them in many games they had no business of winning. He was surreal!!!!!

But Price has come back to Earth and he isn't getting any younger. His life has changed and it may have affected his focus. He's also become somewhat injury-prone and it won't get any better as he ages. It's unbelieavable that Marc Bergevin and Geoff Molson granted him that huge contract so soon!!!!! They at least could have waited until the halfway point of the season!!! But then again, nothing surprises me anymore about this once-great organization, which has become a Mickey Mouse operation!

The Winnipeg Jets are expected to be without Patrik Laine for up to two weeks as the star winger recovers from a foot injury. As Eagerbeaver would say....Laine is injury prone. ;)

Did you see Matthews' goal??? Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's more impressive is that the Leafs win was on the road and that it came against the league's hottest team right now. The Preds were 14-0-1 going into last night's game.

Subban hasn't changed much. Still has a big shot and good offensive skills but he's still the king of giveaways, having several last night which led to both goals and good scoring chances.

The Leafs would love to keep JVR but it's almost impossible due to the cap with other players needing to be re-signed. JVR would also love to stay but he totally understands the situation the Leafs are in. Bozak is another player who will likely be moving on. Who knows maybe there's a team out there who might want to sign them both and immediately will end up with a very productive line.

WOW...those Bruins are incredible...they were down 2-0 against Dallas....and as usual they scored 3 goals in the third period to win 3-2 with 11 seconds to play....they never give up.

Surprise...LAINE was back on ice..i learned by TVA sports that if we wins le trophée Maurice Richard he would receive a huge bonus soit 1,800,000....yes 1,800,000.....so..easy to understand why he is back that soon....lolll

Leafs have won 13 in a row at home after coming back to beat the Red Wings last night.

Hopefully they're peaking at the right time and they'll need all the momentum they can get in order to beat either Boston or Tampa in the first round of the upcoming playoffs.

Strange to see only two Canadian teams making the playoffs (Toronto and Winnipeg). For me the more Canadian teams involved the better it is. Looks like there'll be a lot of afternoon hockey games being shown on tv this year.

Don't like the way Tampa is playing récemment..il y a un peu de relâche....alors attention aux Bruins et Leafs qui sont dans un momentum et qui jouent du hockey inspiré .

On another note Doc....am sure Betman is quite happy that only 2 Canadian teams are doing the playoffs...and Toronto is one of them.

Et que dire encore des Bruins...victoire de 2-1 en ot sur le Wild sur un superbe but de Marchand..et oui encore lui.....une autre belle machine bien huilée.

The problem with Tampa is that their starting goalie (Vasilevsky) is burnt out and the other guy is just average. By the way i've never bought into the paranoia that Gary Bettman was anti-Canada. He's done a hell of a job as Commissioner and deserves every penny the owners are paying him. He's done a lot to improve, enrichen and expand the game of hockey all over the world.

Don't know if he hates Canada, but I do think Bettman fucked Québec city twice. Once when the Nordiques left and once again when Quebec built an arena to help get them back.
Arizona and Carolina are not hockey markets.
.
Oh and no Canadian team has won the cup since 1993...
