I think Denis desserves to have his own thread.

This weekend he represents Canada in Edmonton for Davis Cup----not really popular here. Canada ranked 16th plays India 18th.....Canada is batling to stay in the mondial elite group.

Shapo won yesterday in a long marathon of 5 sets...will play again tomorrow. After yesterday's game...Canada and India are 1-1 . They play in double today.....on TVA and TSN.

Shapo won in 3 sets today.....so Team Canada took over Team India.....solid performance from the kid.....doing so he helps Canada cliinch spot in World Group at Davis Cup......very very good for his confidence.

Remember when playing at Davis Cup players don't receive any money and neither obtain points in their ranking.....they just play for the HONOR and to represent their country.

Congrats to Pospisil and Nestor for their victory in double.

Un mot sur Nestor....this player is very special and unique....45 years old....played last 23 years in more than 1,000 games.....won 91 titles .....4 Majors.....that's quite an achievment..

He lost yesterday 7-6, 7-6....against Zverev at LAVER CUP...en l'honneur de Rod Laver. This new tournamnent est une idée originale de Federer qui voulait voir s'opposer des joueurs Européens vs des joueurs du reste du monde...donc...TEAM EUROPE VS WORLD TEAM.

Team Europe est composé de Federer--Nadal--Zverev--Thiem--Berdychi et Cilic.....4 des 5 top players .

World Team est composé de Querrey--Isner-Sock-Tiafoe-Kyrgios et Shapovalov...

Comme on le constate nette domination de l'Europe....et un peu gênant de voir que les Américains n'ont pas assez de ressources pour former leur propre équipe...un signe des temps.

Heureusement contrairement à la Coupe Davis les joueurs ne disputent que des 2 de 3......beaucoup moins long.

Après une journée l'EUROPE menait déjà 3-1. Borg et John McEnroe agissent comme capitaines...pas mal.

Que Shapo ait été retenu par McEnroe est quand même tout un honneur et UNE RECONNAISSANCE DE SON TALENT.

Well Denis played only once in this tournament---Laver Cup....and did well....was part of the ELITE players....not bad for the kid..and thanks to McEnroe who believes in him.

Congrats to Roger à qui revient l'idée de ce tournoi qui fut remarquable et excitant...j'ai passé un excellent weekend à regarder des matchs de grande qualité mettant en scène l'élite mondial.......du grand Federer...et comme par magie c'est lui qui a procuré la victoire et la Coupe à son équipe....CHEERS.

Malheureusement a perdu au 1er tour du tournoi de Shanghai.....

Am watching right now Shapo playing in second tour at Bâle----SWISS INDOORS---against Mannarino.....should get through. Remember Bâle is the native city of Federer . With the absence of Nadal Rodgers should win dans sa ville natale.

Oups Denis s'est fait royalement montrer la sortie...Mannarino l'a complètement dominé.....le jeune devra polir son jeu encore très échevelé

Éliminé au 1er tour de Paris...6-4.6-4....sûrement que le temps est venu de prendre une pause pour Denis après une saison étourdissante.

Comme Milos Shapo a été sorti en 3 sets dès son premier match au tournoi de Brisbane....espérons que les choses vont se replacer....

Raonic and Pospisil will also play in third round ou ronde des 16. Don't remember 3 Canadian going that far in a so prestigious tournament....great....good luck . Raonic est sans doute celui qui va se rendre le plus loin....semble avoir retrouvé la forme des beaux jours.

Pospisil is out....not a surprise BUT Milos moves on en huitièmes de finale......Shapo plays today.

Wow Shapo just won on Sam Querrey---une grosse pointure...so he moves on :yo: This kid one year ago was ranked 253 and playing in Gatineau and Drummondville.....he is now playing with the best of the best....bravo.

Raonic and Shapo both play this afternoon round 4.....should be fun to watch...

Dommage Shapo just lost in 3 sets in a long and exciting match.....belle performance....well done young man. Good news Raonic moves on in quarters.

Madrid Open.....Shapo just played Raonic in 3th round....won in 2 sets....6-4, 6-4.
