I wonder how TD bank would feel about your handle here lol

No I'm not going to vote. I'm not adult enough to care yet. All these "things adults gotta do" kinda stress me out lol.

I don't understand why people do not vote. Voting is caring for what goes in your city. Voting should be mandatory as it is in other countries.

Look behind you.
I am not allowed to vote here but if I did Coderre would not get my vote. Calgary had an election about a week ago, thought the fucker would be gone, low voter turn out and the turd won ( yes I voted ).
It amazes me that people have so much haterd towards the government but will not go out to vote because, I don't know, did not feel like it. Just my opinion but if you do not vote and dislike the current government do not run your mouth, if you like your government and did not win and you never voted, do not run your mouth.

Explain why I should bother to vote if I despise all of the running candidates and the vote “against all” does not count. This is why I did not vote in the last US presidential elections.

Pick the least repulsive of the group and vote for them, better than letting a total jackass win.

I am completely against this strategy. Without the choice to vote for the candidate I respect I am not going to vote at all. The lesser harm strategy is a failed one and I would feel manipulated by voting for the person I don’t consider fit for the position.

Voting is a collective effort... It's just being egotistical by not voting...

I agree with this, it was exactly my strategy in withholding my vote for either Clinton or Trump. Neither deserved to be voted for. You vote for someone because they deserve it, not because they don't deserve your vote but are the "lesser evil." By that strategy you piss on the meaningfulness of your own vote. People who adopt this strategy should be made to urinate on themselves, as it disrespects the voting process, and disrespects others who vote with purpose. Votes are earned, or not, it is really that simple.

I am voting Valerie Plante of Projet Montreal for mayor, without hesitation. Smart woman, competent team.

I do not trust Coderre with a blank cheque until 2021. Not one bit.

I skipped a lot of elections over the years, mostly because the franco-anglo divide on the island made voting pointless in some provincial and federal ridings. I am voting at this municipal election because, Plante and Coderre now being in a 38-38 tie in the polls, every vote matters and there is an opportunity to elect a candidate I trust and kick out a mayor I do not trust.

However, in other occasions I think that not voting is a sensible thing when you feel that nobody deserves a vote. I prefer citizens who abstain to citizens who feel obligated to vote for someone, because democracy, without having a clue for who or what they're voting for. Sometimes (often?), people who do not vote care more and are better informed than some of the people who vote.

Where I belong.
As much time as I spend in this fair city, I'm not Canadian and, hence, can't vote.

If I could, I'd be a one issue voter today. Let's Go, Expos!!

Forget the value of the construction of the ballpark, forget the hotels that would be bursting to the seams 81 times a year, forget the packed restaurants and all the money to be earned in service work. Just consider how much income tax the players, earning over $100,000,000 per year would be dumping in to the coffers in Ottawa and Quebec City. We're talking billions of dollars of new revenue over the years, enough to build a ballpark, fix every pothole on the island, and still leave more then enough for graft.

Rumples,

Do you get to vote in this dog and pony show by virtue of your Montreal residence? Is paying tax on a property good enough or must your ass physically be in Montreal for 6 months plus, with a muzzled pit bull, in order to vote?
