It's been federal law since 1992 that the release must happen by Midnight tonight, this thanks to Oliver Stone:

Now we will finally learn why Jack Ruby killed Lee Harvey Oswald, on live TV as shown in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6PcVCqg3tg

Ruby claimed he shot Oswald two days after Oswald assassinated Kennedy to "save Mrs. Kennedy the discomfiture of having to attend Oswald's trial." I am calling bullshit on that. Ruby was a hit man for the mob, paid to silence Oswald, another mob operative. Nothing else makes any sense at all. Oswald had no motive, none, other than financial for whatever they paid him.

Kennedy was a skilled horndog of his day. Being good looking and rich certainly did not hurt him too much.

As far as Johnson whacking him or arranging it, this is a leading theory. I don't think Johnson much liked Kennedy. Kennedy only picked him to get the Texas and southern vote, the two men had zero in common.

Def not a fan of DJT, but it's amazing how he's despised considering how he treats women n yet JFK wasn't much different. Was just not open about it. The press back then covered for him too. Only difference I guess is kennedy had some amount of intelligence.....

The press covered for Truman too, on other matters. If you go to the "Truman White House" in Key West, Florida (vacation home of Harry Truman which has been transformed into a Presidential Museum), there is a room in there where Truman would play cards and drink whiskey with his Chief of Staff, his Generals and Pentagon types and assorted other politicians. He would let the press into the house to interview him on the condition that they NEVER report to the American people on his card playing or drinking. The press upheld their end of this agreement. Truman did this because he wanted to maintain the projection of a Presidential image at all times and thought his card playing and whiskey sipping would set poor examples for his constituents. Now, it is a considered a fascinating side of this man who is now ranked among the 5 best Presidents of all time behind such stars as Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.

Kennedy enjoyed a similar relationship with the media. It was not until the Nixon presidency that the Presidential Honeymoon with the press was officially over.

Was the honeymoon with the press over with Obama? He was (and still is) such a gentleman that I do think he got the very best of the press no?

Trump knew from the start that the press would be, and will always be, against him so he completely played along and call all mainstream media fake news. Which gives the worst image possible to liberty of press so important to democracy. I have asked the question here very often with never a single answer, if the mainstream media is all fake news as the president dare to say, who is real news? Breitbart?

Cheers,

I meant that the Presidential Honeymoon was over in a very general sense with Nixon and that is true. The only agreement I recall being struck with the press with Obama was over the coverage of his children, and at some point in his Presidency, if I recall correctly, President Obama objected to some media coverage about them. Jalimon, you are only drawing conclusions from what happened in the recent past and not looking at the totality of American history. Obama faced a fair amount of scrutiny by the media and apart from his African heritage and the Birther controversy, there were very few skeletons in his closet. Most of the media criticism of Obama centered on his poor ability to broker deals with Congress, something that was entirely fair since he had worked as a U.S. Senator and his communication skills appeared to be pretty good. He was viewed as abrasive and uncompromising and did not get a lot done as far as deals with Republicans. Trump actually may be better at having worked with Democrats, so far. What Obama left the country with is a legacy of fighting over Healthcare. A change in the system was needed, for sure, but had he worked with Republicans better we would not have these nonstop attempts to repeal Obamacare, which are due to it being rammed down Congress's throats instead of a negotiated solution. Obama was properly criticized about this. It's a very hard issue but he did not get a total pass from the media by any means. And in any event I am only discussing personal stuff and with Obama there mostly was not any. He did not get blow jobs from interns in the White House like Clinton. Had he done so, no fucking Honeymoon for him either.

It's just funny how Kennedy is so revered....he was having interns blow his press secretary in the White House pool....Imagine if that happened today....I guess that's why a few old the elder gents I talked to when the access Hollywood tape came out were like "whatever". Mindset is different. Jal, I stopped watching Clinton (soon to be Cuomo) news network aka CNN. Fox News is like watching a North Korean state run media news cast. BBC rocks, gives u what u need in 10 min without bullshit. Sometimes u need someone on the outside lookin in to tell u how it really is....

The Nature Boy, I totally agree with your comments on CNN and Fox News. Both are so agenda laden that it’s a waste of time to watch any political reporting on either Network. I also go to the BBC to get any political news reporting.

Regarding the reverence of Kennedy, it has more to do with standards of media coverage that existed in that era than personal reverence for Kennedy, although he was reasonably discreet and did not do anything that commanded attention. It is now perceived that he got away with a lot but he merely got away with what he knew he could get away with, based on media limitations at the time of not reporting on rumors and innuendos of personal philandering. Now it is entirely fair to report on such things. It usually starts with someone else going to the media first and making claims and the media then runs with it.

It's sad, BBC does a better job with NFL commentary when they have it on vs American commentary. Did a nice job on the Flacco concussion...
