Hi all!

Quick question: How long does it take for the Boston to Montreal drive, usually? i assume that the fastest route is i-93 to i-91 across the Derby line at the border, right?

Thanks! I really haven't a clue and hopefully one of you regular drivers (Eager?) will enlighten me!

Just six hours

Six hours, from Logan airport to Champlain bridge. Assuming one 15min stop at Montpellier (Vermont) for gas & munchies.

Some people prefer NY state all the way, when I was doing it did not have cruise control and I hate:mad: driving at 95km/hr when used to 120km/hr:D

Also the route is more scenic through the mountains. At this time of the year you might still get snow!

I agree, highly recommended, plus once you cross over you are on Quebec RT 133, convenient to scoping out Chez Diane, Erotica, etc, on the
way into the city:cool:

It all depends on who's doing the driving. It would probably take me 6 hrs since i like to take my time driving and enjoy the scenery. The older i get, the more i realize that life is way too short and i'd rather take it all in and not rush through it. On the other hand, i know a particular driver in Mtl who could easily make it in 4 hrs. :D

5 hours is my average...

I take 93 to 89 with 1 stop in NH & VT and average speeds of 70mph...

The fastest I've made it up was 3Hrs 45Mins... Left @ 1am, made 1 stop & had a average speed of 95-100mph...

hmm, i've lived in Burlington for 20 years, driven to Montreal 150-200 times. Next time I see this speed trap will be the first.
No kidding.... I can't remember the last time I saw a cop on those streaches through VT.

speed traps in vermont

Regnad
You had better be careful between the two st.albans exits. Very often there is a speed trap, especially going north, as the cops have a great location to hide behind the pillars of an overpass. Also there is a slight downhill grade.

I've been bagged twice in those very same stretches, right at the 120 or 121 mile marker. Once by a nice female trooper who clocked me at 81 and only gave me a $50 ticket said she didn't want to completely ruin my weekend away and the other by some big time asshole trooper clocked me at 85 and gave me a ticket for if I remember correctly $180 and this guy wasn't an asshole just for giving me a big ticket he was just a plain absolute f'n all around dick!

So yea, be careful after Burlington especially between St. Albans and Swanton.
