We're in the FINAL 4 of the NBA playoffs!

Western Final: Houston vs Golden State (should be one for the ages)
Eastern Final: Boston vs Cleveland

The problem is Houston is playing 2 on 4 in terms of All Star players in the starting lineup. 2 on 4s historically do not work out too well in basketball for the team with the 2.

Houston may have the best passing backcourt in the NBA is you look at the combined assist totals of Paul and Harden. But Golden State has the best shooting backcourt in NBA history in the Splash Brothers. There is a reason why they are called the Splash Brothers.

The Rockets are no slouches with 3-pointers either and D'Antoni will have the Rockets playing tighter defense. They will need strong contributions on defense from Ariza and Capela.

The key will be if the Rockets can minimize the damage from Durant and Green. It will be tough indeed but I think they could pull it out!

My biggest problem with the Rockets (other than the fact that they are outmanned) is that their stars have not won anything anywhere, nor has their coach. Golden State can match them shooting 3s, so I do not believe they are too concerned about the Rockets dropping in a few. To me, the Celtics-Cavs is much more of a tossup series although the Cavs got off on the wrong foot yesterday.

I agree EB that the Rockets have not won anything anywhere...however, past performance is not an indicator of future results.

They all start off tied at 0...if the Rockets feel they have an inferiority complex they should not be called pros!

The Rockets / Warriors square off tonight!

Celtics / Cavs will also be an interesting series in the East!...It will be close and both series could go the distance!

I agree- I don't give the Rockets a zero chance but I am very skeptical and they have a lot to prove in my eyes. Looking forward to watching the game tonight. Klay Thompson is a pretty good defender so I think his matchup on Harden will be interesting to watch as well as the PG matchup. It's the two best backcourts in the NBA, without any question-

Warriors blew out the Rockets in the second half to win Game 1.

It's going to be a short series if the Rockets can't do a better job defensively against Durant. He was the difference tonight scoring 37 points and Ariza had 5 fouls at the half and played only 23 minutes.

Both teams are loaded with talent but at this stage of the playoffs it's also about the intangibles. The Warriors have been there and done that. Rockets don't and won't. Steve Kerr had a pretty good description for KD at the post-game conference. When plays break down just throw it to KD and he'll get you a bucket probably better than anyone on earth.

The Rockets did not have a good offensive flow, looked stagnant. On many possessions Harden had the ball, dribbled around and his teammates were all standing around, and nobody was cutting. On the other end, Durant is a huge factor in the mid range game because the 3 point shooting of both teams is a wash. I think most teams have difficulty defending Durant because of his length and superior talent, but the Rockets were allowing easy entry passes to Durant in spots where he is automatic. If those entry passes are not denied and some face guarding doesn't start happening, Rockets are going down big time.

Agree EB, Durant had is way the whole game and was it became easy pickings for the Warriors in the second half. A lot of that had to do with Ariza their best defensive player getting into foul trouble early.
Hence a lot of defensive breakdowns in the Rockets defense especially in the second half. The game was tied at the half.

The Warriors offensive scheme exploited that to a tee!

Nice comeback in the second-half by the Celtics tonight as they tore apart the Cavs.

The game definitely turned around after the LeBron James injury.

Again Durant is lighting up the Rockets. The Rockets look outmanned. They really don’t have anyone to check Durant. Durant is just having his way and showing the Rockets who is boss.

Indeed EB, for the third consecutive game the Rockets don't have a solution for Durant.

The Rockets are outmanned at the forward positions. And obviously, the next game will be pivotal for the Rockets.

Sharkman,

You can stick a fork in the Rockets. They are not winning this series.

Cavs-Celtics is much more intriguing and I can see that series going 7 and either team winning.
