I am certainly not a follower of fashion icons or an expert on women's fashion. But there is something awfully sad about a person who is still in the prime of their life and decides to end it all - Especially when you have wealth, fame, and I presume good health. What brings a person to the depths of despair that would cause them to think this was the only way out? Very sad.

So it turns out she suffered from depression for years. Her sister had been trying to get her into a clinic for help. She didn't want to seek treatment because of the stigma - might hurt her brand. With all her success and wealth, she couldn't defeat it. What a horrible disease.

Wealth and fame is not everything. I knew a guy that opened company after company and was making millions. This did not make him happy, in the end he took his own life.

It’s very sad and I wonder about the impact on the 13 year old daughter. Suicide seems a bit selfish when young kids are left behind, although she clearly wasn’t in her right mind and probably didn’t analyze the consequences of the decision for her family.

Few... Good since I have not achieve any of both yet!

My answer to my own sanity has always been humor.

Since about 14 year old when a friend of my brother committed suicide I always tough that, as EB mentioned, it was a selfish act. As you grow older you realize that brain is an organ that may be having some kind of chemical imbalance and then... You need help! Unfortunately it's not like breaking your arm... Help will not really come to you unless you decide to seek it.

Il ne faut pas connaître ni la dépression, ni l'envie du suicide pour dire que c'est un acte égoïste. La personne en dépression souffre beaucoup et se suicide parce qu'elle pense que ça va régler son problème et qu'elle ne sera plus un fardeau pour les autres, un fardeau qu'elle n'a jamais été. Ces personnes qui tentent de se suicider se sont convaincues qu'il n'y avait aucune solution à leur problème.
