I cannot believe what the US has become...

this really saddens me on many levels. First and foremost of course for the kids who believe they are being taken away from their parents...

then for the parents,

then for our society as a whole...

I understand defending a border, but you cannot use punishment of kids as a deterrent....it is just so fucking wrong. And the border guards following orders...i would of quit.

Trump will have to find a way out of this mess ...even he cannot sustain this...

They use kids as leverage. Anyone who has kids understand that doing so is mean and cruel and inhuman.

Some without any kind of humanity will find any excuse possible to say it's the right thing to do to stop these fucking mexicans to come to the US...

People supporting this administration will be judged very harshly in the not so distant future...
How often do we see or hear about proud Nixonians???
Trumpians are next.

Look behind you.
Before I post, not a Trump supporter but like to give an alternative view since most here believe all is evil with Trump.
First, if you do not want your kids taken away do not cross illegally into the US. Law states that children can not he put into adult prisons.
Second, see the first comment.
The pictures that were shown on the news with kids in cages are old ones from 2016, who was in power then?
I do not agree with what Trump is doing but something has to be done about all the illegals, them thinking if I bring my kids I can get on after a 20 day wait has to stop. Does anyone have a better solution to fix the problem or just let it slide?

STN. You hit the nail on the head. Here's a story from 2014 which details the flood of immigrants, especially children, from Central American countries. The worst offenders being Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.
http://www.newsweek.com/why-are-children-flocking-us-mexico-254371

At that time there were over 1000 children detainees housed in makeshift warehouses, etc. in Arizona and Oklahoma. For the whole year of 2014 approximately 90,000 unaccompanied minors were predicted to make an illegal entry from Central America.
https://www.brookings.edu/blog/up-f...-america-a-humanitarian-crisis-at-our-border/
Sound familiar? The recent surge was blamed on Obama administration policies that allowed these minors to eventually be released into the U.S. without consequence and the imminent belief in a new amnesty. Now, the parents have taken it a step further, and have started illegally entering the U.S. with their minor children in tow, believing that they too will be released into the U.S. Not anymore, Trump has finally decided to send a message and start enforcing the law by bringing criminal proceedings against the parents, for making an illegal entry. With the exception of Costa Rica, these Central American Countries are total shitholes, and they will soon be completely empty if we don't start enforcing our laws.

crossing the border is illegal, the parents of these kids know that. If they chose to do it anyway that means they put their kids in harms way and that's why they are taken away from these so call parents. So blame the parents not the trump administration. Some of these kids are also the victims of human trafficking which means that they are better off and well fed in ICE shelters than out there on the streets.

Wouldn't a wall be a deterrent for illegal migrants trying to cross with children? How easy would it be to climb a wall with children in tow?

It seems to me deterrents are more compassionate than erratic messages of on and again off again border security and amnesties. Does any liberal really believe that or is the real belief open borders? How many liberals just have a deep-seated desire to turn the rest of the U.S. like California?

What's wrong with California?

Cheers,

It's deeply in debt and becoming more difficult for the true middle class to live.

It's fortunately anchored by two extremely profitable industries that hypocritically support higher taxes and regulation while they look to source production overseas whenever they can. Realistically, the only reason those industries are centered there are the pleasant climate and natural beauty.

^^^^^^^ Perhaps he should take a few Mexican families in if he feels so bad. This is a media bred shit show, Obama did the same, HRC was quoted saying the same thing, even our own POS here has done it, now that Trump is doing it all hell breaks loose.

STN is absolutely correct. The reality is one can absolutely oppose illegal immigration, but still dislike the process of preventing it. No process is going to satisfy the Left. I think most Americans in the Center know in their gut that life sucks for these Central Americans trying to cross the border. Many of us would have the U.S. do whatever we could to introduce change in their countries and their politicians. We draw the line at taking in everyone who shows up at the border. I can't help but think there is some Canadian smugness here. Support for these illegal immigrants would stop if we helped usher some of theses immigrants to your border.

Patron, are you serious? Steve Schmidt works for MSNBC. He was an ultimate RINO (Republican In Name Only). The McCain campaign was littered with people with no party grounding. You can throw Nicole Wallace into that Republican strategist bullshit that MSNBC tries to pass off as fairness.

That Neilson woman is one hot chick. Too bad her nose got browned by Trump.

Did someone say that the situation at the Mexican border is such a tangled mess that it will take months to clean up.

So even Trump backed off. You can do many things to refuse people at the borders, but do not take the kids in custody. It's just inhuman. Might as well kill them all, including parents.

You need to put yourself into the shoes of people born in Honduras, El Salvador or other fucked up countries. You would probably do as they do... risk your life at all cost for the possibility of a better one. The jobs of pretty much all hotel and restaurant basic staff of dishwasher, line cooks, busboy, room maid and other low paying jobs (in Quebec we import our fruit pickers from Mexico and Guatemala...) are pretty much all filled with immigrants... Jobs other Americans do not want. Many unfilled...

This is happening because Justine welcomed all illegals and made it so Mexicans do not requirea visa, if he would just STFU this would not be as bad as it is.

BTW, Justine's failed trip to India cost us taxpayers $1.5 million

The situation at the Mexican border has been a tangled mess for years. Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump.

And yes, Kirstjen Nielsen is an attractive woman.

Why do I feel that if Angela Merkel steps down this will be a major stake in the heart of the immigration lobby? She's the last exalted figure in the global immigration crusade. Britain Brexited. Italy is on the verge. Hungary told Frau Merkel to fuck off. Poland is moving away from Germany on immigration. This has nothing to do with Trump other than its roots are similar.

The American press has been championing Angela Merkel. They often seem to paint her as a sympathetic figure particularly in her dealings with President Trump. Don't have any sympathy for Angela. She was masterful at getting elected and staying in power. All the while, she inflicted insane policies on the European Union bringing them to the brink of breaking apart.

Sambuca do you live from short to medium term memory problem? Europe has been thriving over the past 10-15 years since the Euro. For a long time they had the euro valued better then US dollar, a first in history. Lead mainly by the leadership and productivity of the Germany of Merkel. She knows more then anyone that the day they stop open market and quit liberals values hell will break loose and their economy will suffer greatly.

Cheers,
