I've seen a few Border Patrol documentaries. Here are my takeaways, which also apply to Americans re-entering America. Do not bring any fruits, vegetable or meat (cured) -- US and Canada prohibit regular folks bringing these items (for fear of farm and ranch diseases being brought to their respective countries from abroad). I saw an episode where an American lady's bags were searched and a Guard found a banana that the traveler had not declared; she was fined and paid a US$300 at the airport (for a banana)!
Do not bring any vitamins because the Guards will assume they contain illegal drugs and those vitamins will be tested for cocaine, etc.
If you take prescription medication, make sure your medication are in a bottle with the name of the medicine and your name. (Many people go to Mexico to buy generic drugs that are substantially cheaper or drugs the FDA has yet to approve.)
Take clothes for the appropriate weather. The smaller your bags or luggages, the less they will stick out for secondary inspection.
Custom Guards will telephone the people the tourists claims they are visiting. Make sure your host picks up the telephone and provide the same story.
Everyone takes holidays or vacations and even SP's actually take vacations to chill, to recharge and to see the world.
Rich, older dudes going out with younger ladies, from all over the world, is becoming more common, and that trend will continue to rise as the global economy is expected to slow down this year. I see rich, older dudes with ladies half or 1/3 the dudes' ages in Europe, Asia, the US and Canada.
Dress like you're going to visit your grandmother. Try to not wear makeup, if you can. Don't wear cologne or perfume. If you are nervous about flying ask your GP to prescribe something like Xanax for you. Enjoy your holidays in the States, some place are very nice.
