How the world turns. Served a 4 game suspension from the beginning of the year for PED use. Now he is being glorified for being a MVP. If this was baseball, he would be demonized. Honor restored?

I agree with you that there's a double standard when it comes to the NFL and PEDs. Maria Sharapova was suspended for an entire year for admitting to using a banned substance (which wasn't banned previously). It ruined her career. She's never been the same since. Too rusty and at her age nearly impossible to regain her former form.

Baseball players will never get in the hall of fame either for PED use or suspected of it. I understand PED helping bulk up hitters like Marc McGuire & Jose Canseco allowing them to hit the fall hard and far....but how the hell do they advantage a pitcher like Roger Clemens? That's another topic.

I'm 100% PEDs have and are currently being used in the NHL. But it's turning a blind eye to it. Same thing with the NBA.

It all depends on which sport an athlete makes a living at.

The frequency of people caught for using PEDs in the sport also affects the extent of the fallout. Barely anyone bats an eye with Edelman winning MVP despite being suspended because in the NFL, several people are suspended each year for PED violations. I won't be surprised if the NFL tolerates a certain amount of PED usage because the league knows football is a very physically demanding game. Heck, the NFL didn't start testing for steroids until 1987. The players are also savvy enough to circumvent the rules. One of the known bypasses is using Adderall legally by pretending it's for addressing ADHD as opposed to being a performance enhancer. As a result, many players use Adderall.

Is there any testing of any kind in professional golf? I'd see Adderall being very popular among golfers since it would great help their focus/concentration.

Look behind you.
^^^^^^^^ I will need to check this out, I like golf but I suck at it. Could be the frequent visits from the beer girl though.

Free agency has been insane for the past few days. Lots of established names changing teams, but the biggest shock is still Odell Beckham being traded to Cleveland. I'm sure Odell will get ass wherever he goes, but man, I'd rather be in New York than Cleveland on any given day.

Haven’t visited this thread since those Pats ruined the Super Bowl for me .
Anyways I’m of the opinion that both teams won this trade.
Cleveland gets a very talented player and now they have a better chance to make the playoffs.
As for New York trading him I think that was a smart move. Myself was never a fan of outspoken and sideline circus style kind of players like Odell Beckham. And the Giants being a big market team with all that media attention made it even worst. Usually Players of he’s kind end up unsettling locker rooms .And so for these reasons the Giants are better off I think.

Yeah the Browns won for sure. New York? Not so much. Not only did they lose a talented player (and drama queen) but they traded him after signing him to a big contract. Odell's guaranteed portion of his contract is dead money to the Giants. It would have made more sense to trade him before shelling out a bunch of money.

Next season is only about six months away and this frenzied free agency activity has me looking forward to it already. I hope all this activity translates to the Pats not winning again next year.
