Tyronn Lue didn’t make it through the season’s first month without LeBron James.

The Cleveland Cavaliers fired their coach on Sunday, two people familiar with the situation told The Associated Press. The Cavaliers are off to a 0-6 start without James, who left Cleveland this summer for the second time in his career and signed with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent.

The Cavs weren’t showing enough progress under Lue and the team decided it was time for a change before the situation worsened, said the people, who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the team has not commented on the move.

Lue guided the Cavaliers to an NBA title in 2016 — Cleveland’s first pro sports championship since 1964 — and helped the team to four straight Finals.

Assistant coach Damon Jones also was fired, the two people said. A former Cavaliers player, Jones had been promoted during the off-season.

Players appeared to be caught off-guard by Lue’s dismissal. All-Star Kevin Love, who has missed the past two games with a sore left foot, posted a message to Lue on Instagram .

"You helped me see the big picture," Love wrote. "Life changing experiences and teaching points. Nothing but love and admiration. Know we will work towards something greater together again. THANK YOU."

He disobeyed the GM’s specific directive to play the younger players. He did so intentionally, either because he wanted to get fired or because he felt he had no chance to win unless he played the vets. Either way, disobeying the GM is insubordination and a fireable offense. It isn’t his job to like his directives. It’s his job to obey them and coach the players he has been told to coach.

Raptors destroy Lakers in LA

I couldn't believe what i was witnessing last night when the Toronto Raptors totally demolished the LA Lakers by a final score of 121-107. It wasn't the final score that shocked me since most of the 4th quarter points scored by the Lakers were 'garbage points'. But it was their total domination of the Lakers for most of the game!

After one quarter the Raptors were leading 42-17. At the half it was 71-49 for the Raptors. And the Raptors best player Kawhi Leonard didn't even dress for the game!!!

The Raptors have lost only one game this season (in Milwaukee) and they're definitely one of the top in the East & in the entire NBA. As for the Lakers they've struggled from game one of the season & i wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be the worse team Lebron James ever played on. They just plain suck!!
