The question is who holds his assets? If he was to sell everything tomorrow he would probably be left with less then 500 millions or so. Less then what his papa gave him. I know it's all speculation but we are talking about Trump here no one knows and he made sure to hide it all or he would have never been at the WH.

@jailmon - Maybe? I'm not sure how Forbes does its calculations. I know they aren't generous with him because of his long history of lying to them to try and get on the list or higher on the list. I would assume everyone on that list would drop massively if they had to do a firesale of their assets.

The deficit,of course, is more of a right wing thing as it is usually right wingers who run the biggest defecits.

^^^^ Up 2. The dividing Canada is not personal feelings, come out west and see how it is. The deficit is skyrocketing, do not care what previous prime ministers did ( Harper was during a massive recession and left a surplus), Trudeau campaigned 3 $10 billion and balanced the third..... Not even close.

Many countries have walls for the same reason Trump wants one, his fuck up was to say he will have Mexico pay for it. The Dems talked about a wall and were OK with it, a small useless wall, go big or go home.

Walls work....but only if they are defended by armed guards ready to shoot anyone who scales them. Or if they are protected by land mines and electrified.

There is a lot of debate who his "base" is. (More people voted for him than would be described as his "base". His highest and most solid support seems to be white evangelicals, who seem primarily driven by the idea Trump will make the country go back to one where they are the most important people in it. His other supporters usually have more specific goals (lower taxes, opening coal mines, immigraton reduction) and may not agree with Trump about other things he does. The Evangelical base seems to be all in no matter what he does, though.
Here I admit I haven't looked at recent studies of his support and the demographics involved.

" The obvious counter to that is that it is the Western politicians and activists dividing the country and stirring up trouble. I'm not saying either is true, I am saying that "who is dividing the country" is kind of subjective.

At least you aren't saying the democrats used to agree to Trump's vapor wall that Mexico will pay for. But Trump stopped "going big" on the wall ages ago. He's down to 500 miles now, maybe less in his recent offers?

When Trump was elected I thought it would be interesting to see just how little power a president actually has. Pelosi has temporarily proven my point. But staying on topic, it will be interesting to see if Trump pulls the ultimate fuck you to Pelosi in a few weeks with a national emergency order to fund the wall anyway. If that happens I think the dems are in trouble for the next presidential election.
