From Montréal to White House...Democratic California Sen. KAMALA HARRIS announces today her run for President in 2020. She is 54 , daughter of immigrants from Jamaica and India...very nice mixt. Saw her few times on CNN....smart and very good looking woman.

Younger she studied here in Montreal--Westmount , secondary school and her mother worked at McGill College and at l'Hôpital Juif de Montréal. She left after her studies to the US.

It will be a very long process with many contenders....a hard and though one....not an easy task....not sure she will do it BUT i would vote for her.....at her young age she may be the bridge DEMS need between old and younger generations....wish her the best....à suivre....

Patron is right about that. On this board, I would say FOSTA/SESTA is a big reason people will hesitate on her. Outside of this board, her record as AG is still going to be a big deal. It's kind of a mixed bag. She does have a big advantage in being from California, though, and Cali got their primary moved up so will be more influential than ever.

I wasn't aware that Kamala Harris once studied and lived in Montreal. What impresses me the most is the fact she's a no-nonsense/no bullshit type of politician and her 'take no prisoners' attitude during Senate hearings. She used to be a former attorney general and a top prosecutor in California before entering politics and it shows.

I don't see her becoming President. I see her being more effective being in the Senate and possibly a future attorney general for the next Democratic President.

Interesting! I do think she is probably a front runner right now, but the field is big and qualified so I don't think anyone is a shoe-in. If she doesn't get the nod, I think AG is a strong possibility and wasn't one I had thought of. I think that's a pretty good call right there, Doc.

You can think she is completely stupid and it doesn't change that she is a front-runner for the Democratic Nomination. Trump is incompetent but that doesn't mean he isn't the front-runner to be the GOP nominee in 2020. Those things aren't related.

What possible measure are you using for this? GDP, no - middling growth. Number of jobs added - nope, solid but average. Wage gains - middle of the road solid.
The economy is doing fine, but "rises like a rocket" is a ludicrous statement.

2.Unemployment fell down until record low level


This one I will give you! It's falling slower than it was under Obama, but it has kept falling and is down to levels not seen since the middle of last century. This is good!

3.north korea is almost destroyed.
