Well I just arrived home from Montreal and wanted to stop in and thank the board for helping me organize a very pleasant trip to your city.

Highlights included:

-- A walking tour through Vieux Montreal and Vieux Port. Noteworthy here was the Pointe-a-Calliere, a musuem which takes you underground through actual ruins of 300 year-old buildings. I was also quite taken by some of the shops along the sidestreets from which I managed to bring home some wonderful gifts.

-- 4 nights of people watching at the Hotel de la Montagne.

-- Dancing at Le Boome (and some other club I can't remember) until 3am on Thursday night (thanks for recommending it Eva!) .

-- Renting a bike and riding all around town, all through Parc du Mont-Royal and up to the Oratoire St-Joseph, where I smiled at the stacks of crutches that people had left behind.

-- Strolling down St. Catherines on a busy sunny afternoon, enjoying the colorful vibrance of the city and its people.

-- Rendezvous' avec Paige of Celine's, Eva and Michelle of Eleganza, Kiki from Devilish and the lovely independent Helene de Lasalle (one review down, the rest forthcoming).

-- A walk up St. Laurent street in the afternoon and then along St. Catherines. Being a vegetarian I was unfortunately unable to try the duck, however I do remember stopping for some unknown reason, looking up, and finding that I was right outside Cafe Cleos (this was Friday afternoon). The bouncer told me the cover was whatever I felt like tipping him so, given how legendary the place is around here, I couldn't resist at least popping my head inside. To make a long story short I "had a few songs" over a bottle of water with a sweetheart named Veronique.

Legend has it that those crutches were left behind by people that were cured by Frere Andre. It is an amazing site to witness.

Being a vegeterian, you did not try our city's famous smoke meat but you did experience the vibrance of the city. This is my favorite time of year to be here. I love Montreal during the fall.

thanks for sharing,

GG

P.S. For those interested, there is a movie on Brother Andre:

Plot Summary for
Frère André, Le (1987)
The life of Brother Andre who, from his modest position of a catholic college's doorman, raised the fervour of the catholics around the world to Saint Joseph, father of the Christ. His miracles. And the way he succeed in the construction of the Saint-Joseph's Basilica in Montreal.

One time I stopped by Cleo for a bottle of water, and ended up with a couple of songs from each of 5 or 6 ladies! I like the varieties of dancers, the friendly atmosphere, and the look and feel of a classic strip joint there.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your Montreal visit. I think we are all very happy to have helped in some way in your planning. You came across to me as courteous and methodical, and it is great that you are posting you Montreal experience and reviews. I enjoyed reading your first review- Helene is a wonderful young woman to spend time with- and I look forward to the others.

I think you have set an excellent example of how to tap into the resources of this community, and also how to give back! Thanks for showing us how it should be done!

So when you heading back???;)

Not as soon as I would like unfortunately. 3000kms is a long way! I am very fortunate to live in an area (Vancouver Island) that I would say is just about on par with Montreal in terms of the quality of women available. The services generally aren`t as liberal (don`t expect any or cim) but the women are absolutely incredible and the rates very reasonable. I don`t know what it is about the island but it is home to quite a few very down to earth women who lack the jadedness and distance that is more common in the big city. If I do come back to Montreal again it would be due to the allure and vibe of the city as a whole (and, yeah, the women:D ). I had a smile on my face the whole time I was there and very much enjoyed the vibrant energy of the place.

PS - if any of you are ever lucky enough to find your way out to these parts, don`t hesitate to look me up for recommendations. I am not that prolific a ``hobbiest``, but I definitely know a few very wonderful girls who I know would knock the socks off some of the more thoughtful individuals around here.
