Jon Dough, one of the stars of the golden age of porn died Sunday. I guess the sex industry isn't only difficult for young performers. R.I.P.

"He leaves behind a wife and four-year-old daughter."

Very sad indeed. Suicide is one of those things that is very sad, especially when there are children involved.

Well, the "obit" seems to indicate that depression had been a lifelong battle for him.

He was also battling drugs & alcoholism for years, i believe. I read this on Luke Ford's site a few years ago.

I wasn't aware that he had been fighting depression. Looks like abusing & degrading all those women over the past few years (including some of Quebec's finest) eventually got to him.

What are we doing if not abusing and degrading women?

I wish I had the balls to join him but I don't. Henceforth, I quit hobbying and I quit women altogether.

I was referring to the types of movies he was involved in over the past few years, whose themes mostly dealt with degradation & humiliation of women in the movies he both directed & participated in.

I understand your reasons for quitting hobbying....but women altogether?? Now, THAT is something that i could never nor ever want to do. My life would be nothing & meaningless if there weren't women around me.

btyger,

Hi bud, I do not like the sound of that last post. You can quit this bullshit hobby but please do not quit on life. You've got a son to think of and you do not want him to grow up without his dad around to share his life. You have so much to offer him, please remember that.

If you need to talk with someone, please PM me.

In my case the problem is me,

Btyger,

You are lucky ... the solution is located at the same location as your problem is. I don't like polls but if I was to make one asking how many people feel like you you would see yourself in great company ...

Hold on, express yourself, and treat yourself as you would treat your best friend.

This is a cliche and it's not always a temporary problem. In my case the problem is me, and it's going to be around as long as I am.
Good point, can I ask you what the problem is?????
(I'll understand if you dont wanna tell us)

Yes, many women in the porn biz (in need of $$ and not always knowing any better) due willingly agree to make movies where they'll get spit on, pissed on, yelled obscenities at and have their faces slapped. They 'agree' to be abused and degraded. So who's doing this to them? The actors & directors.

The porn biz has undergone extreme changes in the last 5 to 10 years. It used to be that anal was quite rare in the biz and few girls performed anal on film/video. Now double penetration and even double vaginal and anal is becoming common. Even fisting which was once basically illegal to distribute is being shown more and more along with various forms of watersports as well as even more extreme acts. I seriously doubt that all of the ladies in the biz feel great about themselves at the end of the day. It's actually amazing what some people are willing to do for money. Willing participants or not, many are definately being degraded and abused.

Tyger,

Hang in there man, I know the Sox may have some contribution to this feeling, all of us in RSN are a little down but there's always next year right! :D But seriously, if you need someone to talk to there's no shame at all in seeking help. Keep your head up T!

The only thing I can tell you btyger is that if you take your life away like this, you will surely never have a chance to make it better and you might seriously miss something good. If you decide to live, there will always be a chance for you to find a solution and be happy some day.

When my father divorced, he wanted to take is life. He couldn't live without a woman (what a crazy thought!). I managed to stop him two times. He tried all right. First time with pills, and I found him in time. Second time, he wanted to plug a hose to his car's exhaust pipe. I prevented it also.

Today, he's finally happy because he met the right woman 2 years ago. You see, if he had not waited, he would have mist it all. He had so many good years left in front of him. Now, he's not even thinking of the word suicide.

Life is beautiful and there are so many good things out there to discover. Why the hell waste it? Life is way too short! It's crazy to commit suicide when you think about it.

Be patient, the sun is bound to shine your way...:)

And just another thing... quit the nonsense about the gun! This is surely not going to help you and won't attract any sympathy... Remember that you have a son that depends on you. Won't do him any good if you're dead or in jail...

I know you already seeked some help. It didn't help so far? So what! Keep on asking for help. There is always a way to get better.

Listen up,

I've had my ups and downs. The ups have been real high and the downs were terrible. I went to a medical doctor who asked me to try a very mild anti anxiety drug and I promised not to drink with it. (Since alcohol is a depressant).

It worked, negative thoughts stopped racing through my head, people who cared about me lined up to help once I made a commitment and put forth the effort to find a brighter side to my life.

You must be able to control your thoughts and medication was key for me.
