What does it REALLY take to start a good agency in MTL?

This is hypothetical. I am a yank who is curious about the differences between the states and your country up north in particular Montreal.

Obvious is a phone #, advertising and some girls. Most bad agencies get that far. But really to make a good agency what does it take? Please no fanciful dream list or wish list or answers like "treat their customers well" but really what makes services like the top agencies click whether LDL or HDH? What I am looking for is the type of information some may not see as obvious.

A web site is obvious. A great web site with regularly updated schedules is not hard to figure out. Good customer service and great ladies is obvious. I am interested in the not so obvious business mechanisms and necessities.

What I mean is how much "connection" would someone need? Criminal element? Kickbacks to LEOs? Prepaid cel phones to SPs? How many drivers for how many girls? A scheduling system done on paper or on computer? How to maintain client privacy but still keep a way to contact clients? Percentage splits? Reimburse women for condoms? Contracts or verbal agreements?

it is a simple curious question

he's probably kidding but your post make non-sense... you watch way too much tv....

If all it takes is a phone, an ad, a web site, some drivers, and some girls, then every major city on earth would be inundated with agencies. There is more to it than what is obvious so I am asking what is it that isn't obvious?

Running escort agencies is not illegal even in the US but I am interested in Montreal. There are some grey laws in Montreal but specifically it is perfectly legal for 2 consenting adults to exchange sex for money so long as they proceed to do so in private outside of any public view. This would include in a private residence or hotel room, talking on the phone, or exchanging emails. Incalls are outright illegal, so is pimping, but running an escort agency is not so long as the agencies do not openly solicit sex for money.

So why are there only a few good agencies? Is it because there are only a small pool of women who might provide good service or a few people who know how to run a good escort business or something else? There are so many people living in the city it seems impossible to be limited to just a matter of a limited number of "good people".

Most times a new agency appears it seems like it is run by someone already in the business so there must be some inside knowledge or know how which is not obvious.

What does it take to run a top-notch agency?

BP,

I am going to answer a different question: what does it take to run a top-notch agency? Why? Because I feel that pretty much any shmuck can set up an agency with a minimal investment. But very few agencies can boast of a stellar long-term track record. Most agency owners are scared of getting caught by the cops and they try to make as much money as possible in a short period.

So what does it take to run a top-notch agency? By top-notch, I will not make a distinction between HDH and LDL. Two of the most important things are service and recruitment. A top-notch agency has to service the client. A schedule is there and is respected. This also means that someone is always there to pick up the phone...ALWAYS. It doesn't matter if you are closed, you need someone there to pick up the lines and book the appointment. Prior to setting up the appointment, an owner will convey exactly what to expect from the lady. Does she converse?; What are her physical characteristics?; Does she have any important restrictions (LFK or CBJ)? Is she passionate and does she consistently get good feedback from other clients?; etc.

Once the appointment is set up, then it is respected. If you are going to be late, then call the client to let them know. Finally, always ask the client if they can call you to provide you with feedback. This shows you actually care about their satisfaction.

The other key factor is recruitment of fine ladies to an agency. I do not know where some of these owners recruit, but I would place ads in university papers. Why? Because a lady who is studying might have the level of maturity to handle the pressures of the job and she will likely be more reliable in keeping her schedule because she will likely not be a drug abuser. Instead, she will make her money to finance her studies.

There are other important factors that make a top-notch agency like owners that truly look after the well-being of their ladies and where possible, weed out bad clients. Also, related to this, are drivers & owners that do not bang their ladies or force them to "sponge it" during their menstruation.

There have been plenty of discussions on MERB about the back-stories of various MP services and locations and plenty about SC locations, laws, permits, you name it. Why can't the same be discussed about agencies? The others more commonly attract busts yet the back-stories and info are discussed regularly. I for one am curious what kind of things the various owners do to grease the wheels and avoid trouble while running high profile agencies. I doubt any agency owner would be forthright about what they might do so an open yet general discussion about it, without naming names, seems interesting to me.

General,

I think we can all agree what would make a great agency from a customer perspective but I am interested in discussing what makes agencies tick in the first place and what keeps them ticking beyond having good ladies and customer service.

The other key factor is recruitment of fine ladies to an agency. I do not know where some of these owners recruit, but I would place ads in university papers.

Through observation I am certain most recruiting comes from:

~ Referrals from other girls
~ Girls seeking the line of work on their own
~ Classified ads in adult papers
~ Finding girls in clubs, talking them into it - bit of a slime factor there

It is how things are done currently from what I know.

Pickle, either you are simply curious or you are contemplating opening an agency.

I don't claim to be an authority. I got to know a couple of agency owners whose legal companies were my clients and a couple of SPs well over a long period.

If it is the latter, start at the bottom - try to find a job as a driver and/or receptionist for an existing agency with an aim to learn. The (financial) success of an agency is very much dependant on the management.

At the beginning, count on being both the receptionist and driver. You will need an above average ability to remember clients by their voices and quickly weed out those who just want to chat. More importantly, you better be able to guess which will call for women and won't show up or just want to see one and refuse her at the door or worst of all, find a woman to mistreat. You probably won't be bothered by a top biker, but will have to be able to handle it if a biker from a feeder gang gets the initiative to call.

You better be willing to risk, at the very minimum, the publication of your name if you get busted. As in most high paying management positions, you'll need above average ability in handling clients and employees.

For instance, one owner told me that clients who ask for his "best girl" invariably get their egos massaged and are sent the next available.

Weren't you the one that argued in a previous thread that the minimum age of SPs should be raised to 21?

This idea is completely offensive to me and I know a couple of vocal SPs on this board, and clients, that I think would agree with me on this one. A university paper is not a place for an agency to post recruitment. There is no place for this kind of publicity on a campus... Ads like that belong in the RECRUITMENT sections of newspapers (not to mention agencies also have the internet and boards like this at their disposal).

Why would a university student be any better equipped mentally, emotionally, etc, to do this kind of job (isn't that what you were worried about in the minimum age thread)?

t76,

Yes, I still feel that on average older SPs are better equiped for the trials and tribulations of this job. There are always exceptions.

I also agree with you that a university paper may not be the best place to advertize. It's not because it is "offensive" because depending on who you are, there will exist offensive ads in campus papers. The problem with recruiting SPs is that you'll get the feminist Nazis complaining that SPing is demeaning to women.

I think the Mirror or local papers is the best place to put an ad but I would specify that "we are looking for university students 21 years old and over." That is my preference but it doesn't have to be an iron clad rule.

GG

P.S. Thanks for not ignoring me.;)
