Montreal Gyms?

Are there any health clubs in downtown Montreal that have daily and weekly rates for tourists and visitors? In case I get a hotel without a fitness center.

I know that Montreal has a YMCA, but their website didn't say anything about daily/weekly rates for visitors. I guess you have to be a resident. :(

I'm mainly looking for cardio equipment, preferably newer stuff. Weights would be ok, but I'm not exactly looking for a bodybuilders gym. Just one for normal folks.

I would probably best recommend the YMCA. It's a pretty clean and big place. Lots of machines, pretty uptodate stuff. I used to train there. Took it for granted. Moved elsewhere and going to another gym now.. small and not so great...

Go and check the rates there... I think it's maybe about $10 for every one session... But yeah, i'm pretty sure they have a weekley rate of some sort...

I love la Cite on Park Avenue !

La Cite on Park avenue, the night user pay 6 dollars after 7 pm. It is very friendly and has the best machines.

The WMCA has too many people and the guys stare at women which makes it unconfortable if all I want it is to lift weights and do my cardio.

Getting more specific. I'd like to know of a place that offers Pilates reformer classes on a individual basis.

And a side note: Pilates is amazing stuff. I've done it 12 times now, over the last seven weeks. Does amazing things for tightening the abdominal core and building flexibility. Just 12 sessions and I feel looser than I have in 30 years.

Hi Regnad

I read an article in The Gazete about a spa in the old Montreal who offers exactly what you want. I dont remember the name exactly but it is called:
Zen.......or something like that.

There is another spa on Saint laurent street and the owner is a very good looking blond called Lynne Saint Rock, and her expertise is what you want, I just dont know if it is in the individual basis.

The Zen spa on the old Montreal certainly is individual traynning. The article was in the business session of the gazete, about women in business.

There is one very serious authority on this topic: Oliver Kloseoff.

He goes by Okos on the other board. Send him a PM and ask him for suggestions.

In doing my research on this, I came across these two places, one of which was the one Juliana mentioned:

Gym must have a powerrack, please.
