Saw a preview for this movie (to be released Friday, February 16th) last night. Seems worthwhile to me!

From what I pieced together (and reading the synopsis :p ) It's about a daughter (played by Karine Vanasse, not bad at all) that goes to study law in Montreal but ends up getting tangled up with the night life in Montreal and becomes a stripper. She also ends up doing some soft core porn online... on the other side of things, her dad, stumbles on her website and sees her announcing that she's going to be shooting a XXX video in a few days. Torn by guilt, he takes off for Montreal to stop this from happening. The day of the shoot, the actor supposed to appear with the daughter is found dead...

There was one idiotic thing I saw though, you know those trivia questions and tidbits they give you (even before the previews are shown)? One of them stated that Karine Vanasse went to strip clubs escorted by policemen to research her role. There's no way she went to strip clubs escorted by police officers, do they think we're stupid? Besides, isn't one of those clowns enough? It's not like women aren't allowed in there, nor will they get 'attacked' because they're there and not a stripper.

(She should have taken her dad as backup :D )

If only I knew...
Shure! The cops were in SWAT uniform and were hitting on anybody looking towards Ms. Vanasse. They did it that way to ensure she would have a reality view of what's happening in SC, without any outside interference.

NOT!!!

Whoever she was with was certainly not in uniform and kept a low profile. If not, what's the point of the scouting? And it could be multiple visits with different cops, not necessarely 1 visit with 10 guys! I find this absolutely plausible.
After all, if she never went to a SC, she might really have expected problems if she went alone.

Given I already find Karine Vanasse irresistible in a regular role, I can't wait to see that.
Unless she loses her naturally charming ways and starts acting like the regular stripper, in which case that'd be too bad (and looking at her make-up on a video from the movie's web site, it might unfortunately be the case)
Let's just hope she doesn't go to Hollywood!

so the movie is out

Ma fille mon ange is now playing in theatres. I read some of the reviews in the weeklies and they argued that the sex industry characters are caricatures and that the portrayal of the industry is rather one dimensional. So much for all the visits to strip clubs with cops ;)

I'll probably check the movie out just for the Karine Vanasse eye candy, but I'm in no rush...

Anyone who ends up seeing it, I'd like to hear what you have to say.

I saw the film this afternoon.

Nice, but if you go watch this movie with the idea to see a lot of nudity, you will be disappointed.

Karinne Vanasse is one of our cuttiest québecoise, and she have a terrific body.

There's one scene in a strip bar where she dance on stage. She's not nude and the scene last between 10 an 15 seconds. Thats it.

Complete action in the strip bar is maybe only 5 minutes in the whole film.

And no, we don't see Karine performing live on webcam.

Well someone have to be pretty stupid to expect such things from a movie rated 16 y.o.... Lot of people been surprised that the rating was 16 and not 13... anyway if anyone want see some porn better to go to cinema l'amour...

 Granted it's 'mature content' but a 16+ (in Quebec)?

+16 is definitely an excessive rating!
What was Sin City rated? It was an excellent movie but it had a far longer strip club scene, lots of hookers and incredibly alluring violence/gore... and the two movies were rated the same, weird?

And yes I (and I think most potential film goers) are aware that there wouldn't be anything too revealing.

All this doesn't change the fact that I'll fork over $10 to see the delectable Karine Vanasse :D
