Hello all,

I know if I live in states close to Canada border like Buffalo, Plattsburgh and Montpelier, VT, I can get Canada TV and radio channels without any problems. I loves CBC news The National and other shows.

Here is the problem:

My company is going to send me on field service far from the border.

How can I still get Canada TV and radio when I am like in Florida or South Carolina ?

Will Cable TV or Pay TV do it ?

I am worried sick I will miss the best of Canada TV and radio.

Can anybody help ?

Will Cirius radio do it ?

CBC radio is available over the internet as are many other Canadian radio stations. For Canadian television, you might want to see if it is included in available satellite television packages. With all the snowbirds and Quebecois in Florida, I suspect that it will be available.

And thanks for expressing your appreciation of Canadian television.

A friend of mine is raising a bilingual family and his solution was this (kind of elaborate but bear with me):

He establishes a Montreal address via some friends.

He runs up to Quebec and buys a satellite dish and all of the other accoutrements there, brings it back here.

He calls the satellite TV service there, pretends he is somewhere in Quebec and activates his subscription. He gives his Montreal address as his address and it is billed to his credit card.

He installs the satellite dish, finds the satellite and... Voila! He gets Canadian TV and the kids enjoy French language TV here (well, actually Quebecois language TV).

If only I knew...
Bell is sometimes mandating to have their tech to install so, you might have to get a fake install and remove the equipment later. Signal from Expressvu and Starchoice goes lower when going south of the border because of the broadcast pattern. For Expressvu, there's an old 22" dish who might be useful. I suggest checking Ebay.

A friend of mine is a trucker and bring his BEV with him. Every night, he pop the dish on the truck, align it and, 5 minutes later, TV like he's at home! (minus the giant screen

For radio, there's some Canadian stations on BEV, on top of their in-house music station, and there's internet. In French, Radio-Energie broadcast on the internet and I guess lots of English station do the same.
