Just trying to synchro my BBerry with Outlook new version under VISTA.
Previously everything was OK with XP but can't do it with Vista.

I dowloaded SP2 pack software from RIM web site ( complete with device manager) without any results :(

Tried to contact RIM service on line for a week , no answer back.

Did any one faced tis situation before
Thnx for advice

Spiky,
What's the model of your Blackberry?
You mentionned SP2 of the Blackberry Desktop Manager (BDM)...is it SP2 of the 4.2.xxx version of the BDM?
Does your Blackberry Desktop Manager on Vista at least recognizes the BB?
Your version of MS Outlook?
Pls try these:
-If the BB is not even recognized by Vista, you need to plug the BlackBerry into your machine and then run Windows update.
Windows Update should find an "optional" RIM update.
Then download the latest Blackberry Desktop Manager (version 4.2.xxx). It will easily sync with the latest versions of Ms Outlook
-If your Desktop Manager recognizes the Blackberry (it picks the PIN of the backberry), then just upgrade the Desktop Manager.

Hopefully, you have the latest Pearl, or Curve version of the BB.
It will help a lot. Otherwise, with older Blackberry (Mine was a 8700r and of course would not work straight-out-of thebox with Vista), your best bet would be to also upgrade the Blackberry software that's on the handheld itself.

The problem probably has more to do with the version of Outlook you are using than with Vista. I have a similar problem syncing my Motorola cell phone with Outlook 2007 under XP on my work system. It worked fine with Outlook 2003 or Outlook Express, but not with 2007. One question I have is whether you are using Outlook, which is not included in any version of Windows, or the mail/contact client that is included with Vista which is no longer Outlook Express. Express has now been turned into three separate applications...Windows mail, Windows Contacts and Windows Calendar. Let me know what program you are actually trying to sync with and I'll see what I can find out for you.

You are going to need a new patch for your synchro software package

I was told last May when visiting RIM that the new pack will be out sometime in September, it will fix some of the syncro problems some of us have when synchronizing through a virtual mail server under Outlook and will adress some problems of compatibilty for Vista.

Write to RIM TS with your problem, in my case they were fairly responsive and did in fact help to solve the issues we had.
